New show, just started...Not sure it will last, seemed sort of predictable to me. Could be good if we get real scenes from all over the world. Can't remember what used to be in this timeslot, LOL, how bad is that...I liked it whatever it was because I always taped the 8-11 block.

Stalker was after Criminal Minds prior to Beyond Borders. I really liked that show and was sad it wasn't renewed.

I like Gary Sinise, so will keep watching for a while. But, I thought there as something off about the personalities of the people that were team mates. Cool airplane.

So is there a International Response Team in the FBI in RL? Just wondering.

Dipo, the FBI does have response teams that sometimes deal with various international issues, but I think this show depicts a team with much more automony than they have in real life. I found this official FBI page at fbi.gov...the word "international" appears twice on this page, and I freely admit I was too lazy to read anything but the paragraphs where "international" and "global" appears!.... FBI: Our People and Capabilities <snip> "Among our specialized capabilities: Evidence recovery and processing: In New York, we have Evidence Response Teams made up of special agents and other specialists who are sent to crime scenes to secure the area and exhaustively gather and process physical evidence. Each team member has a forensic specialty and has been extensively trained. They can take photographs, diagram and survey scenes, gather fingerprints, determine bullet trajectories, recover DNA, gather and process the smallest of clues, and more. The teams coordinate with the FBI Laboratory and assist both local and international law enforcement upon request. " <snip> "Global crisis response: We have a group of agents who, in addition to their regular duties, are ready at a moment’s notice to respond to large-scale investigations overseas. They are part of New York’s Rapid Deployment Team (RDT), which includes SWAT, ERT, and USERT capabilities and a general investigative and support element." <snip> "Crisis negotiation: Our Crisis Negotiation Team is dedicated to disrupting, preventing, and defeating criminal-related hostage takings against U.S. citizens and American interests domestically and internationally. The team, which consists of special agents who receive specialized training in crisis and hostage negotiation, can also respond to kidnappings and extortion matters." <snip. https://www.fbi.gov/newyork/about-us/our-people-and-capabilities/people

I so want to like this because of Gary Sinese, but so far I'm just not engaged. I'll give it a few more shows.

We ended up taking it off the series pass. We have too many shows, and this one didn't wow us enough to keep it.

This one is not one of our favorites either. It's too bad because hubby and I really like Gary Sinese.

It's leaving me cold as well and I just removed it from my DVR list. I also like Sinese but it feels like he would rather have a stick in his eye then be on this show, he is taking dour to a whole new level. The team medical examiner is apparently trying to duplicate Penelope but lacks the charm and quirkiness. And so far the show has been beyond condescending to every country they have gone to. There were 2 episodes last night.. Number 1 was France. Autopsy says damage to eyes was post mortem, American team member mumbles about that being a no brainer. They also treated the main police contact as having no idea how to run an investigation like the smarter Americans would. Second was Japan(ese) whom they portrayed as having zero sense of humour or charm. In both cases they announce they are there to work WITH the local authorities and then go on to just take over but allow a token local to follow them around, mainly to translate. I made that sound more intense than I intend, just a lot of eye rolling at these 4 people who drop out of the sky and have all the answers.

My biggest issue with this show is it is lather, rinse, repeat. I want to like this show because I loved Gary Sinise on CSI:NY and I love Criminal Minds. (((sigh)))

I loved him in Forrest Gump. That was such a great supporting character.

I bet the cruise industry wasn't too hot about this last show. People will stop getting off the ships in port, LOL.
