I'm catching up on episodes of Dr. Who that weren't aired on BBC America when they were doing the lead up to the new series.

Looks like the new series "Marco Polo" will be available on Netflix starting today. I don't have the streaming option at Netflix, but I thought you guys might be interested: Watch Season 1 Now "Marco Polo" is an epic adventure that follows the early years of the famous explorer as he travels the exotic Silk Road to the great Kublai Khan’s court. But Marco soon finds that navigating the Khan’s world of greed, betrayal, sexual intrigue and rivalry will be his greatest challenge yet, even as he becomes a trusted companion to the Khan in his violent quest to become the Emperor of the World. Starring: Lorenzo Richelmy, Benedict Wong, Chin Han Creator: John Fusco Genres: TV Shows, TV Dramas, TV Action & Adventure This show is: Exciting ------- I wonder if this series takes place in a swimming pool...

Is Sons of Anarchy really violent? Everyone says it's really good, but I watched the first episode and it was a bit bloody. Does it stay that way?

I too saw the first episode or two. The bloodiness didn't botber me but it just didn't grab me. Maybe it's like Mad Men and takes a few episodes to take hold.

I tried but couldn't get into Mad Men either! I'll give it a few more episodes. I like the main guy (Charlie Hunnam) so that might keep me watching.

Kitt - Yes, Sons of Anarchy is violent. They're all criminals with the mentality that goes with it. That part never changes.

Kitt a friend of mine watches Sons of Anarchy, said it gets even more violent as the series progresses. LOL about Mad Men...I just couldn't get into it either. I know there are many that loved it. Lakecat...hello, yep we have both been around here for a very long time. Always good to see you here and there...

Started watching The Honourable Woman and I'm about halfway through, it's really good. A little hard to understand what's going on sometimes but that's mostly because I'm not as informed on Israel/Palestine issues as I should be. Maggie Gyllenhaal is nominated for a 2015 Golden Globe for this and deserves it, Stephen Rea is also really good.

Black Mirror is good... I think. It's also very strange and unsettling. Bit like The Twilight Zone but focused on new technology making things worse rather than better. Just six 40 minute episodes are online, another season has been aired on tv but isn't on Netflix yet.

Warning to anyone watching BBC America shows, it looks like some/all of them now have a Netflix expiry date of 2/1/15. Doctor Who, Torchwood, Red Dwarf, Top Gear are all listed as expiring at the end of the month.

i thought i had recommended this show before, but perhaps it was in another thread....... Happy Valley !!!! Police detective's daughter was raped (never reported it) and became pregnant. When the baby was 6 weeks old she commits suicide because she was so distraught over having to look at/care for this child who reminded her of her rapist. The pollice detective asks to be bumped back to uniform patrol so she can care for her grandchild. Her husband leaves her and son becomes very distant, both wanted her to put the baby up for adoption, can't stand to have him around as a reminder. The rapist is imprisoned but for a different crime. All that is the back story, the show starts ten years after these events when the rapist is being released and the police are investigating a kidnapping. Stars Sarah Lancashire Ialso in Last Tango in Halifax) as the police sargeant/grandmother and Siobhan Finneran (Downtown Abbey) as her ex drug addict sister who is living with her. Was heartbroken when this ended and still waiting for a second season with crossed fingers.
