When Phillip asked Irina whether the boy existed she said something a bit non-committal - did everyone think that meant the son did or didn't exist?

Kitt, I thought it meant the boy didn't exist.
But if I were Phillip I would absolutely want to know, 100% no ambiguity, for certain.
(Add me to the list of those who think this show is excellent. The acting jobs by the two leads is stellar, and then the supporting cast -- Margo Martindale! Richard Thomas! Noah Emmerich! -- everyone is just spot-on.)

The son may have existed but it most likely wasn't his and he knew he would never get the truth.love how these charachters keep changing and the balance of power between them changes

I'm very intrigued as well. Love all the 80's stuff I remember. Danskin, that phone on her bed....waiting for the legwarmers on an exercise outfit (time for a Jane Fonda VCR tape?). LOL!
But also the historical references. Mixed in with a show about relationships.

TENSE episode tonight! Dang - if that one partner just had not been stalking the secretary!
I can't believe the Russianse separated. It seems like it would be so much harder to leave the house at night for missions, etc., considering the kids are at home. I thought they would have stayed in the same house just for that reason alone.

I think that's a possibility in the upcoming storyline. Paige is a teenager and she is just acting upon her natural teenage instincts to "spy" on her parents regardless if her parents are KGB officers or not. It's just a teenage thing to do.

totally the daughter is going to figure out her parents are spies. Thought the season ender was a bit of a disappointment. I expected a lot of drama. Great show though
