Just a reminder for people without Showtime, January 11-13 is the free Showtime weekend. So it starts tomorrow. On-demand is free, too, so it's a perfect time to do a marathon of the Showtime shows you want to see. Some of the series have all their seasons in on-demand, not just the current season.

Thanks Naja. I wonder if Dexter is there. I'll have to look, not that I have the time to watch hours and hours of it!

Guess I will have to figure out what channel Showtime is normally on and see if I get the free weekend. I miss the free weekends.

Thanks for the heads up, Naja. I had no idea. Since I don't usually get those channels, I wouldn't even have checked. Seems I'm getting the HBO and Cinemax channels as well as the Showtime channels. The on demand channels are off though.

So no on-demand during the free window?

When you go to the showtime website is says: "See what you've been missing! Check out hit series, movies, & sports on air, On Demand, and online. All uncut, in HD, and all FREE during the SHOWTIME Free Preview from Jan. 11-13"

I just checked some fine print. It says some services may not be available in some areas. I subscribe to showtime, so I can't check if on-demand is showing up ok for people just checking out the free days.

On demand is working for me. YAY! Thanks so much NAja. I'm 4 hours into Dexter season 7.

Brenda, remember to do Homeland, too, if you have time.

I have not watched any Homeland and with all the football and Golden Globes, I'll be glad to just get Dexter done. If I had more time I'd go for Californication! I will have to netflix Calif and Homeland some other time. Does HBO ever do this? I'd love to be caught up on Boardwalk Empire.

Thanks so much for the tip, Naja! If not for you I probably would've missed it. My area doesn't have the actual channels available, but I do have "Showtime Freeplay On Demand", which is even better for me! The only disappointment is that I wasted one whole day of viewing time before I remembered to check. Looks like I'm going to have to dedicate every spare minute I have to my tv in order to catch up on both Dexter & Homeland in the next few days ... lol...wish me luck!

I have so many free channels this weekend I don't know what to do with them. But I love this. When I get free premium channels, I look through the tv guide and record and record and record, nearly filling up my DVR so that when free weekend is over, I have a ton of movies and tv shows to watch whenever I feel like it.

Anyone watching the Golden Globes? Everytime I switch over it is like they are having technical difficulties or something. Almost like no one knows what is going on. So weird.

I'm watching. I've only noticed one technical flub. What a nice surprise to see Clinton. Kevin Costner gave a nice speech. I mostly enjoy the crowd shots.

Deception...any body watching? I've watched the first 2 episodes on my phone while at the gym. I think it's okay...not sure it is worth staying up for on Monday nights, but it's gym-worthy.

I tried to watch Deception, but after about 20 minutes into the first episode I realized it was way too contrived and ridiculous to waste time on......more like a daytime soap than a "real" drama....so I dumped it. It was just a bad show.

We enjoyed it (Deception) for the hour but won't be watching again. Obviously going to be a soap-opera type show. There isn't anything wrong with that, just not my style.

Exactly why it is gym-worthy.

"The Following" is coming to Fox this month. There is some transmedia stuff happening. Backstory, character development, mini-stories in support of the TV show. A good friend of mine is doing the work/creative side for this site and asked me to share the link. http://welcometothefollowing.tumblr.com/tagged/LENORE

Jewels, is it easy to watch, I would think it might be too small, just curious.

Dipo, it is a little small, but easy enough to see. It's better when there aren't as many characters in a show. I have watched Last Resort at the gym too and I get confused because I don't recognize the faces as easily. It's a good distraction though. Another one I like to watch is NY Medical, I think I like that better on a small screen than on my t.v.

Dr Oz did a good interview with Charlie Sheen. I do not think he was on anything, but I could tell his past drug use has effected his mannerisms and movemnts etc. He seems highly intelligent, perhaps too much for his own good.

The movie "Prosecuting Casey Anthony" is on tonight on lifetime channel. Starring Rob Lowe. And no, Casey Anthony does make money from it. It's based on the prosecutor's book. It will be rerun a bunch of times.
