Eric Dane has died, aged only 53, of ALS. I'm posting it here as he has been in so many great tv shows.

He was in Countdown last year, and I really got the impression it was going to be renewed (although it was cancelled) so he must have deteriorated quickly. Such a terrible disease.

Here’s a bit on him, with some comments from colleagues

Karuuna, it is funny. It's an American remake of the British show Doc Martin that is still running on PBS.

I'm watching Best Medicine. Mainly for Annie Potts and Abigail Spencer.

never heard of Doc Martin, but this version is certainly a bright spot in my week. Yes, the scenarios are a bit out there, but the humor is spot on!

Kar, if you can find it, you have to watch Doc Martin.

I forgot about Best Medicine. Thanks for the reminder.

So far I've watched the first 2 eps of Best Medicine and, to me, it has a kind of Men in Trees/Northern Exposure feel to it. MIT and NE are a few points above BM on the quirk-o-meter, though. Fun show.

I agree 100% Sir Sanfran! Nothing ever meets up to the excellence of NE IMHO. BTW, is anyone watching the NORTHERN DISCLOSURE podcast hosted by Rob & Janine? I think it's available on YouTube etc. I catch the occasional episode where they interview the other actors, writers, production people, etc.

A fun show I started through PBS Masterpiece is The Puzzle Lady also known as Murder Most Puzzling. It stars Phyllis Logan (Mrs. Hughes from Downton) as a crossword creator who gets involved with police investigations in her village. I’m about to start episode three. Here is a trailer..

The plot brings to mind the show Ludwig on Britbox. I liked that one, so I will check this one out. Thanks, Rieann.

Rieann, I watched it last night. I had to watch the 1st 2 episodes (it was as 1 long movie) on YouTube. It wasn't available anymore on PBS. It was enjoyable, but only ok for me.

Then I watched the 3rd episode on PBS and it was 100 times so much better! We were so into it and what a cliffhanger at the end of the show!

So, I thought I couldn't watch the next episode unless I got their Passport. I signed up twice because for some reason, the 1st time, PBS took my money but wouldn't unlock my passport. So, I signed up a second time and it took it.

Boy, was I upset that for all time it took me to get my Passport to work, I find out I have to wait til Thursday for the next episode to unlock!

The daughter of the police captain is hysterical! Gleefully trying to take pictures of the body while the mother is trying to shield her from the sight.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Is anyone still watching Paradise? I got rid of Hulu last year and just wondered if the second season was worth watching? From the previews I’ve seen I’m skeptical. But I keep getting emails that I could get it back for $2.99/month for I think six months. I’ve been thinking about doing that which should cover Paradise, The Testaments (coming April) and The Bear (coming June). Just don’t know if I should just do it or put it off for a while.

PAradise has been fantastic IMO. Really compelling back story episodes, new characters, life outside of the bunker. I am very interested in this season so far.

Paradise this season is excellent. I swear the first episode was a mini movie on its own.

Grooch, I’m glad you are enjoying it. I love the daughter too. Thank you for the reminder of Ludwig. I had started it and then life intervened. I’ve put it back in my rotation. :-)

I'm enjoying American Classic with Kevin Kline, Jon Tenney and Laura Linney. I believe it is on MGM Plus.
