I think we talked about it in the random thread as well, as I remember saying that the last season finale created more questions than it answered. I’m really looking forward to S3, such an intriguing show. I’m hoping this will be the final season though, as I can see it going a bit off the rails.

Haven't watched the Olympics at all until tonight. I'm watching on Peacock and it is driving me nuts. I can hear the commentary and over that someone describing all the moves like audio captioning. I want it to go away!

The Olympics has been good. Nice to see after the COVID-19 year. We’ve been talking about it here: https://tvclubhouse.com/forum/read.php?file=/9200/26415252.html&lm=1722885606

Sugar, you need to turn off the descriptive assist... it's for people are visually impaired. Here's a link that will help. https://www.makeuseof.com/how-to-use-audio-descriptions-peacock/

Nope, sometimes when I am watching USA I can hear the commentator at the event behind the TV commentators. It is a bit annoying and you can't turn it off, LOL. I have been amazed at how bad thee actual production is for the Olympics. I was just talking to my friend about how I am constantly distracted by thee "beard" on the female anchor for the USA shows. The lighting of her is so bad she has varying length beards created by shadows. My friend says the camera man must hate her since he doesn't fix it, but I think it is the studio lighting.

Dipo, my link was just for watching on Peacock, where adaptive assist seems to be the default. That's not the event commenter, it is a function for those who are visually impaired to hear play by play description of what is showing on the screen. We should probably continue this discussion in the Olympics thread, if it's necessary to continue.

On Peacock, it doesn’t just happen on the Olympics. It’s happened to me on random shows. For those that need it, it’s great, the rest of us, it’s just annoying.

Oh, I don't do Peacock, but I did notice it when watching other things on USA and E. And it is the event commentor I can hear, not the adaptive assist. I accidentally turned that one once, LOL, took me awhile to figure out what I had touched that turned it on.

If anyone is interested, Knots Landing is finally streaming! It’s on Plex. I have been waiting forever for it. You couldn’t even get them on DVD back in the day, other than session 1. I know what I’ll be doing!

Did anyone watch Brilliant Minds? I love these kinds of shows... of course, my background is in neurology, so it fits.

I did, Karuuna. I thought it was fantastic. It enjoy shows about new things, not just the same old same old. I think it was interesting his "face blindness"; not too many shows have ever mentioned it. I think a witness on one of my fiction cop shows had it but haven't seen it presented in a serious fashion. I hope it takes off because neurology is very fascinating to me.

I thought it was a game show, LOL! But I saw Kar post she liked it, so I found it in on-demand and watched.... Wow! It certainly wasn't a game show and it was great! Did I miss it or did they tell us what his father was sick with?

Doctor Odyssey premiers tonight at 9pm on ABC. I am curious about this one, is it just a "love boat" or is it some sort of "white lotus" type show. Surely they aren't on a cruise where someone gets a life threatening injury every week. Hmmmm, what could it be, off to google.

I recommend "KAOS". (Netflix referred to it as a "Netflix Myth"). It's an entertaining re-imagining of the Olympian gods, set in the present...and Zeus (Jeffery Goldblum) is a paranoid, power hungry, nutjob (and Jeffery Goldblum is perfect in the role) Check out the trailer: https://www.imdb.com/video/vi896976409/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_7_nm_1_in_0_q_kaos I love the unexpected and this is unexpectedly unique (as you'll see in the trailer).

I was looking forward to watching Doctor Odyssey but couldn't get past 30 minutes. I'm curious as to what others thought. SFJosh ~ From the previews for KAOS, I couldn't get past seeing Goldblum as anything other than the Grandmaster in Guardians, lol! Let us know how you like his new show.

I just finished it and I'm already mourning it because it's over. (only 8 eps) I loved "Kaos"! It's listed as dark humor....and it has a lot of humorous situations with the kind of "dark" you might expect from any show about ancient mythology with gods who are selfish, angry, ridiculous, jealous, and with an innate inability to totally misunderstand everything about human beings. I laughed, I cried, I laughed and cried some more. I'd say it was sort of like "American Gods" but it wasn't. They share a similar premise about ancient gods in a present day world...but American Gods was much darker and hard for me to follow, yet I loved the richness of the production values. Kaos is pretty "out there", too, but it's very coherent and easy for me to follow and my only problem with it was trying to learn all the Greek names that usually end in "ius". But I could always figure who who they were talking about by the context. The cast was amazing. Goldblum made a most excellent megalomaniac god throwing tantrums and skeet shooting. You said "couldn't get past seeing Goldblum as anything other than the Grandmaster in Guardians" and I think I might have a problem of ever seeing him as anything but crazy Zeuss! (I was expecting an "apartments.com commercial Goldblum", but I just got a great actor. (I've never called him that before!) I didn't even realize that Debbie Mazur was Medusa until I looked it up after I finished the show. Chris Curtis ("Travis Manawa" from Fear the Walking Dead) was Neptune. Billie Piper (Rose Tyler from Doctor Who) didn't have a huge role, but it was an important one and she revealed who she is later on. Hades was played by David Thewlis and one of my favorites was Eddie Izzard as one of the Fates. Eddie Izzard is amazing. Oh yeah, I just remembered that Hera, Zeuss's wife was played by that tall blonde woman who was a bad guy in "Ozark" before she starting to help the Bird(Byrd?) family, She looks a lot like Jane Lynch. And everything got wrapped by the end of ep8....while also revealing a perfect set up for a season 2. It has yet to be renewed, but I read somewhere that it has gotten over 70% favorable reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Watch it! It's unique and it's worth an 8 episode binge. I promise.
