When I was traveling in the South with Southern-born male colleagues, we would all eat breakfast together in some restaurant. Rome, have been there twice - the most difficult city I have ever tried to navigate on my own on public transit, and I have navigated quite successfully on dozens of world city's public transportation.  I can jump on the subway in Shanghai and be giving guided tours that same afternoon.  I guess it is some kind of talent.
