Howard would be a breath of fresh air on this show! He wasnt kidding when he said he takes judging seriously. The wild lecherous character he has done on radio is something he puts on to make his radio show.

Found this exchange between Howard and his long time radio partner Robin about being organized, his tv schedule that he cant watch unless his wife is with him--all pretty mundane stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDxFfvw5gt8

The new judge will have to put up with Howie Mandell's silliness. I liked Howie on Deal Or No Deal, however, his tormenting Piers on Talent was annoying and childish.

I don't mind Howard, but he's definitely not right for this show. I can't believe they'd even consider it. It's a pretty family oriented show, so why even to there. It seems you don't listen to the Stern Show. Usually only people who don't listen to the show think he is so outrageous. Howard is actually pretty conservative in his real life, but above all else he is a professional. He would take his job seriously and would be 100% in his opinion. I would LOVE him to be a Judge. I don't think he would do it for the fact that he would never let anything affect his radio show schedule and he HATES traveling. I can't see him flying to California every week. He would be too paranoid about the radiation he would get from the flying.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9qjGQZu4iI&feature=related Here is Howard and is wife Beth discussing it on the air. Beth lets it slip that AGT did provide him with a schedule, so it looks like this may actually be for real. FWIW I love Beth & Howard, they are too damn cute together. SHE has made him a better, more laid back, man.

Usually only people who don't listen to the show think he is so outrageous. Or you listened a few times, like I did, found him outrageous and overly focused on having women disrobe, and stopped listening. YMMV

I can't stand Howard Stern....and I think his presence as a judge on AGT would ruin the show.

If they put Howard Stern on, I'll have to check here to see if he's ruined the show because I won't watch at all. Too bad because it's one of my favorite shows.

It's his obnoxious personality that bothers me, no matter what his politics are. I'd rather have Gilbert Gottfried on the panel than Stern and I can't stand that guy!

Frogi, I don't know. I'm old enough that the years all run together now. It was when he was still broadcast on some cable tv station. If he hasn't apologized and made amends for all that bad behavior, I'm still not interested. It's not enough if he just doesn't do it now. Has he?

According to Landau, Stern has tweeted that had he been a judge that Landau would have not won. Landau feels that he was not "freaky" enough for Stern. Landau puts on a fabulous show as he is doing a tour throughout WV, KY and OH. He is humble, polite, funny and spent 2 hours after the concert at West Virginia University signing autographs.Tonight he is in Arkansas doing a show for Wal-Mart. He was much better then I anticipated.

I've seen the howard stern show and found it full of poor taste, sexually explicit and perverted material plus it seemed very pro drugs/ alcohol. It pokes fun at everyone even the mentally handicapped. the stuff they'd get women to do was horrific. Ya they were strippers but that is no reason to assume they are pieces of meat for entertainment who will do anything for a buck. ya, i'm not a fan and dont think he has any credibility being involved in a show panel which has many women and children auditioning. I dont think his mouth could be controlled imho.

I will never ever watch stern, even if he is on with my favorites. I will never forget listening to the radio and hearing live the weather woman die in a helicopter accident in the morning and then Stern, on the same network, in the afternoon saying she was so ugly she deserved to die. He made her life hell working on that network by making nasty remarks abut her looks every day, but to do it the day she died was so far beyond the pale, there is nothing that can redeem him for me. nothing.

good example of WHY i dont think he should be judge. can you imagine him telling someone they were 'too ugly' to win? Kids especially can really take words to heart. i can see him being really mean to a kid. i also could see him making sexually inappropriate comments about the women /girls

Yes, I have seen his show when it was on TV several years ago, heard his radio show, and even saw the movie he put out. I just don't find him a right fit for AGT. He's not someone I admire, that's for sure. I hate his attitude towards women.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/howard-stern-joins-americas-got-talent-274213 UPDATED: The shock jock announced the news on his radio show on Thursday morning. NEW YORK - Howard Stern has signed a deal to join NBC talent show America's Got Talent as a judge, the shock jock announced on his Sirius XM Radio show on Thursday. our editor recommends Simon Cowell Confirms Talks With Howard Stern for 'America's Got Talent' (Video) Howard Stern Talks 'America's Got Talent': 'I'd Be Better Than the Hoff' As expected, he will replace CNN host Piers Morgan. PHOTOS: Howard Stern Through the Years "It's offical - Howard just signed on the dotted line - he is now the newest judge on America's Got Talent!" said a tweet from the show's Twitter handle @sternshow. Stern said he will start shooting in February and travel the country for the audition rounds, according to people who buzzed about the news online. The show's live airings will move to New York where Stern is based. “Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer,” said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night at NBC, in a release that confirmed the news. An earlier tweet from Stern's show had said: "Yesterday, Howard met America's Got Talent winner @landaueugenejr . Howard says he's a really nice guy but he still shouldn't have won." Stern recently said he would be better on the talent show than David Hasselhoff. The addition of Stern caps off a big week for NBC's reality division, which has delivered much-needed good news for the network. Monday's return of Fear Factor, after its six year hiatus, brought the beleaguered network its best non-sports ratings for the 8pm hour since 2008.

I hate his attitude towards women. He has 3 daughters and is EXTREMELY respectful of his mother, wife and children. I know opinion are already formed, but I say give him a shot before you make judgment calls. I have been listening everyday 3 hours or more a day for over 10 years so I am biased, but I also see how the show has evolved. He is extremely loyal to his staff and his fans. Howard is also a COMPLETE professional. He will not pull any antics on AGT. He knows what his audience wants. This is a talent competition and he is very interested in finding new talent. He will be honest, not mean, but honest.

I gave him a shot; unless he's had therapy, I don't believe he's changed. A man who thinks "all women are " doesn't change miraculously. If you are listening every day, you might know that many workplaces still ban his radio show because they know that having it play in the workplace can bring on *successful* sexual harrassment lawsuits. And of course, he still regularly asks women to disrobe and have naked contests. Blech. That's objectifying women, and it's hardly respectful. How one treats their own family is not an indication of how you treat others. Sorry, won't be watching this show if he's on it. Not interested.

He has been in therapy FOR YEARS. He used to go 3/4 days a week, but I don't know how much he goes now. He also does transcendental meditation. A man who thinks "all women are ••••••" doesn't change miraculously. He doesn't think that of women. I am sorry, but you are wrong about that. He is beloved by his peers in the industry, his fans and there is a reason why. Believe me, if he bashed women and treated handicapped people poorly I would never listen to him. The reality is he doesn't. I have listed to him almost everyday for over a decade and feel I have a pretty good idea of who he is. I never watched the show before, but I sure will now!

He treats porn stars like normal people and doesn't make them feel dirty/2nd class citizens like most judgmental people would. If they want to take their tops off why blame Howard? He didn't make them and he isn't touching them.
