I thought this wasn't going to premiere until next Weds. but my DVR recorded something last night. Was it just the "introduction" (which is a total waste of time)?

It starts off with a challenge, I think to determine teams. So I'd say it's a full episode, not just a fluff piece. I'm so excited. Love this show!

It did start with a challenge, running up and down a mountain. Finishing place determined who got to choose a teammate first. CT was last... oh dear.
I didn't realize that the vets would be paired with a new person. Some familiar names with the fresh "meat".

Cedric from Big Brother, Yeremi from TAR. AMerica and Blue from BB, Dee from Survivor (I think she won), also Sydney.
Those are the ones that are familiar to me.

I remember Dee from Survivor (she did win). I don't remember Sydney At. All. Kind of vaguely remember Yeremi from TAR.
All the other "new threats" are new to me since I don't watch BB or any of those other shows.

I dont understand why only the disqualified players were up for being nominated to go into the battle. I didnt think that was fair to the 8 that completed the challenge!!!

that should have said why weren't the disqualified players the ONLY ones up for nom??? Everyone except the winner and the couple they saved were up for nom. Totally unfair to the people that completed the challenge,

Yeah, in previous weeks I thought only the bottom teams were eligible. They are certainly switching things up this season.
I don't like new teams every week.... too hard for me to keep track.
