Who do you think is playing the best? I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
At this point, I think the Icons have pretty much controlled the game but that doesn't necessarily mean they have played the best or are the best positioned to win overall.

Rick Devens.
I say this because I don't have the feeds. I know nothing about him. I don't think I could pick him out from a crowd.
He is going to come out from hiding soon and win.

We are halfway through so I am going to say that Dee has played the best game up until now. I am sure my view will be different in a couple of weeks.

I would say it’s a tie between Devins and Yash.
The best game is when you’re sitting in final two and can get the jury to vote for you. Right now I don’t think Drew or Dee can do that unless they are sitting next to Angela. Anyone can win sitting next to Angela or maybe Taylor. However, if Taylor suddenly wins comps at the end to get herself to final two she would have the same argument Taylor Hale had.

IMO, this cast has played worse overall compared to most other years. Dee and Devens seem to be in the driver seat running the game, despite multiple bad mistakes. Devens' latest - volunteering for the block - will cost him the game if he doesn't win the blockbuster.
The rest of the cast has played scared, and made their own mistakes. I guess I think Yash has played the best... but the best player does not always win either.

This article from last Saturday places Devens as #1, Dee as #2, and Angela as #5. Melody was ranked last at #10, and Haley (now evicted) was #7.

Eh. The uneven playing field makes it impossible to say… for me anyways. You can be playing a great game and get knocked out because of a random unknown. Managing to talk a dumb player into keeping you as you lie through your teeth over and over isn’t very noteworthy. Dee and Devins lucked out with this group. The two people that finally moved against them were smart but unfortunately had to depend on the others to follow through. I too am just dumbfounded at this final 5. And I vote to evict America from any actual gameplay.

The POV with Laser beams could have been fair but the had to drag a very heavy mummy, same weight . Clearly favored Drew, followed by Devens. Drew claimed it was 200 pounds. Anyway hardly gave Melody, Taylor and Dee a chance.
Best game.. production.
But evicting Yash WAS a good move.

As I said in another thread, Devens’ gameplay is truly impressive. He hasn’t seriously offended anyone, he makes good strategic decisions, he’s been friendly for the most part, and he keeps winning competitions when he has to win them. Not just easy competitions either but really hard competitions where there’s a lot of pressure, skill, and stamina involved.
ETA: Well he’s obviously offended some people here.

Here's a post with a link to hear Barrett and Yash rating the remaining players game. I trust Barrett over Yash more, only because he's a superfan. But at the same time, both of them don't get to see everything that we see and are in conversations that the other isn't. (Like the bribe situation)

So Taylor has won the final four HOH. Good for her! One of the things that people seem to miss in games or gameplay like this is that in order to win you have to get to the end to even have a chance. Winning early and big is great, but ultimately the goal is getting to the end. In many respects, Big Brother is an endurance competition. And Taylor has endured and that is absolutely super. Plus I love her diary room comments. She is expressive and funny.
As far as Devens’ game goes, this is fairly irrelevant in that he couldn’t compete for HOH and absolutely has to win the POV to ensure he will stay.

I agree Jimmer. What I liked about Taylor is that she was loyal to her alliances. She stood by Lala when lala was blowing up the game. Early on Taylor had a good read on people, she was dead on with everyone.
Did she lay around in her pod when Lala went? Yep. Was she not included in the groups? it was her and Lala through most of the game, then she stood with Yash and after he went that was it. Can't say I blame her. The others had no interst in her, made no effort to engage with her and considered her irrelevant. Bully for her, she was able to survive two rounds in an HOH that involved previous houseguests, doing puzzles.
If she survives to final two, I would give her my vote. I see her winning against Drew and Dee, Devens not so much.

Thanks, Jimmer for saying that. You've expressed what I've felt but not able to verbalize.
I think she spent a lot of time in her pod to get away from all the negativity that was aimed at her, too. Drew really had it out for her during this whole game with the old trope that her and Lala were angry black women. And that they were always on the verge of going off. Meanwhile, it was always Angela going off, and nobody seemed to care. Devins and Drew once talked in the kitchen and laughed about how they would egg each other on about Taylor.
I also think things got a lot better in the house once Thog left. It was like a weight was lifted of a lot of negativity.
And unlike someone like Melody, Taylor did have a good read on people and their moves and offered good advice on what to do. Whether that person listened or not, that's another story.
And Taylor worked with Kamu and Yash for a long time. They could win comps and she gave them advice on what to do.

Well, Taylor survived being on the block so many times because she was always perceived as the weaker player and less of a threat.

I completely agree with all three of you Jimmer, Maris and Grooch.
Devins is my guy. I’ve rooted for him since his first time on Survivor and have been pulling for him this whole game.
But I’ve also liked Taylor. From the beginning I’ve wondered if she would slyly make her way to the end because she always knew what was going on and what others were thinking and planning.
I also felt that she kept to herself because she never was included with this group and didn’t blame her.
Sitting next to Dee or Drew, if she has a good defense of her game play, she could win.
If it can’t be Devins, I’d want Taylor to win.

Watching Dee, Devins and Drew in the pod room last night seemed like they believed that they own the game and they earned the right to be there. The whole I cant believe she won and Drew's surprise that could win this game. I know if I was in that house and was one of four people in the house, with the other three huddled in a room whispering == wouldnt prompt me to join them.
I hope Taylor wins the Veto, she then controls who goes home. I am not sure what she would do. She could act emotionally and evict Drew -- bad move in my opinion or, evict the only guaranteed threat Devens. We all can see that Dee cannot win competitions. Devens is the best competitor left.

Reading all of your opinions, I can see how Taylor has a case to win. You all know I want Devins to win but I am ok with whoever wins.

Well at this point, Devens' game is on pretty shaky ground. It's now a matter of if he can convince Drew to keep him over Dee.
I haven't been following closely today but from what I understand I'm not sure he is going about it the right way. I've heard he is taking a threatening approach and there is no way that is going to work.
His argument to Drew should be that if BB does what they usually do, the third part of the final HOH is largely luck. It's usually that thing where the contestants try to complete a houseguest statement or something and it's not easy to predict. If Drew keeps Dee then it is very likely that if either Dee or Taylor win the final HOH that neither of them will take Drew to the end. Certainly Dee likely won't (or at least Devens can argue that). Whereas Devens can promise Drew that he will take him to the end.
Plus he needs to add in some emotional stuff about how he and Drew are close and they can finish the game together.
All of the above is manipulative but it is also true.
