I also think the icons have had a lot handed to them, and I don't find them enjoyable to watch. Being gifted the first hoh and the only ones to receive actual game altering powers has left them sitting pretty for weeks. And I won’t say they aren’t playing hard, but I don’t think they deserve THAT much praise.
That being said, all my favorite newbies were/are huge game playing disappointments and if the icons walk straight to the finale it will be due to a combo of being given an easy path by production and players alike IMO

Barrett tells Melody he is willing to vote Deven's out if he was on the block but doesn't want that info shared. I think Barrett is being honest with Melody too, he kinda giggled as he said it.

I don’t blame the icons either, they didn’t make the rules.
It’s just a perfect storm of many factors:
They are older, two of them have a spouse and children.
They’ve ALL competed on a CBS show before. The newbies naturally gravitated to their safety. They got a free week or two, which was a huge safety net. Except now the vets are expecting to be treated as superior, they want their opinions to have more weight and value. I don’t blame them, but I also hope they don’t get their way…
I just read that The Traitors which starts in late September will be all new and “regular” contestants. That will be refreshing to not have a familiar or famous face in the bunch!

and tonight, I know some online are saying oh the icons ran the whole thing...welll Dee won the comp, all the rest had the same chance to win! If they would have won this would have turned out different but they didnt and here we are. Icons are earning these spots
Remember the year with Janie and Howie, seemed like their side couldnt win when needed and that is why the friendship could pick them off (that and Howies dumb move LOL)

I don't fault them for taking opportunities, if that is how they want their life to go. Devens can say take the money and live your life, and he might do that. Dee already won a million and this is her second reality show since then so maybe that is how she wants to live her life.
Oh, she is an entrepreneur with a company and influencer and... Reality Star.
Anyway, producers chose to take this turn.
I have more interest in those who do pursue and actual life.. Chadda in medical school, still podcasts but she says currently too many want to be reality stars.
Claire has a real job, Cory is in law school.
Kenzie,veil won Survivor, already had a career started st age 15 and had her own salon and used her million to plan ahead. She got married, they determined that they could afford 2 children, live with joy, work hard, with a goal of education for those children and travel and experience for them.
Jun Song invested her $500k and lives in Belgium with her son Noah, works and they take amazing vacations.
And in this season, the bribe is still a major factor..

Melody has been called to the diary room downstairs. She took the phone that the houseguests had with her as she was leaving the room.
Feeds all switch to the pods bedroom and then to BIG BROTHER.
Feeds come back and Drew has turned out the light in the HOH room.

Now Drew is called to the diary room downstairs. Drew says he has a question. Feeds cut away and then to BIG BROTHER for that. Now he is heading downstairs. He heads to the bathroom downstairs where Melody is brushing her teeth.

I love that Drew is keeping everyone in suspense and not letting us know who he will renom today.
I have enjoyed watching Drew and the Icons play this season. The Icons have been masterful in controlling the game. Drew is fun and entertaining. Barrett and Melody need to step up their game and Do Something! I would never want them to win with the game they have played so far. Taylor needs to get out of bed. Turned my feeds on several times yesterday and never once saw Taylor.
