Not sure if I'm going to get this right - the 17th houseguest is not Rachel, it's the accomplice that helped with the chaos of Julie being kidnapped and the missing HOH Relic. If the houseguests figure out who the accomplice is, the accomplice will be removed from the game. If they don't figure it out, the accomplice becomes the 17th houseguest.

Mystic, that’s pretty much right; Rachel is HG #16.
And I figure the accomplice is staying; from the way it was worded, at least 9 of the other 16 would have to vote for that person, and I don’t think they’ll be enough time or evidence to get anyone suspicious enough to get 9 votes (and it was specifically stated it wasn’t Rachel) - and the others might decide to split the votes even if they know who it is so that person gets to stay…

My first impressions from the west coast from intros, I like Kelley. I hope she can stay under the radar and not get evicted as an easy eviction first.

Popping in to say that this is by far my favourite 1st ep of a BB season EVER. Non-stop surprises, fast-paced. Just so much fun. Now going to scroll back to see if anyone agrees with me.

I kinda like all the odd ones. Kelly, Ava, Vince, Rylie.
The premiere flew by. It was so good!
The way it made sense to me is 15 of the 16 who came in the front door -and Rachel- are all regular house guests.

Kay thinks it is Amy or Ava or maybe Keanu. She does note that there is more women than men, so it would make sense that the accomplice is a lady.

I think the "accomplice" is Katherine. Just based on a facial expression (or lack of) when it was announced there was an accomplice - but I don't think that she did anything .. the lights went out on their own (by production) the relic disappeared on its own (swiveled) .. she may have unlatched the painting so Rachael could come through .. but I doubt it. and I hope they vote Rachael out next week... LOL!

The RHAP group, when doing their podcast, talked about accomplice and Melissaaa (aka the Voice of the People) opined that it would probably be a woman.
They all thought that the person in question wasn't given a choice.

So were the HG's told it wasn't Rachel? or they are just assuming because she wasn't there when the lights went out?
My guess is Rachel! We know there aren't any light switches for the HG's. So it seems they were turned off behind the scenes. The relic seemed to flip into the desk to disappear, also something triggered behind the scenes. And she unlocked the door to let herself in.
I was really hoping she was only there for a bit. I do not want this season to be the Rachel Show. UGH. I really liked the fast pace of this episode and was hoping to get to know these players, which all seem to be fans of the show. It doesn't need a Rachel!

I like Rachel but I also agree that the BB production totally overthinks things and forces situations rather than letting the show evolve naturally. It's much better seeing a bunch of strangers get to know each other rather than setting up some sort of forced situations. But each season I always have hope and this one has started reasonably well.

I fell asleep for the last 15 minutes of the show and I finally got the chance to watch it and now I'm catching up on posts.
Pamy, I hope your right that Rachel gets murdered. I'm liking this cast (so far) and I want a chance to get to know them, and find out their personalities before Rachel starts domineering and manipulating them.
And I thought the same thing as Needmylifeback said. Katherine's expression made me think it could be her. And if not her, I'll go with mustache guy because of his personality, or Zach. Zach seemed to know to easily what door to go to to find Julie. And bb needed that comp to go quick to have enough time to fit everything into the show.
I wonder how much time they have to decide on who the accomplice is. They really have nothing to go on, and if someone insists/targets that somebody is the accomplice and are wrong, that will be putting a target on their back. Best to keep one's mouth shut on this one.

Did anyone discuss the fact that no one had bags to carry in... no beds were "claimed" right off the bat... that they went to other parts of the house.. (upstairs to see the lounge...and the HOH door) ???
Yes... they did go through the two bedrooms (and found the sliding door) ...
Totally different than any other season... maybe they were instructed to look other places...

I enjoyed the first episode, I finally like the house design and decor and then they ruin it with CBS production pet Rachel BACK AGAIN! A season of fast forwarding through the episodes. A season of butt kissing.
Bring back Angela to murder Rachel.
And then the next season of Amazing Race is past BB HGs?
I can never have nice things.

Zach was slower on the puzzle and others had listened at the lower doors, so he went to the upper doors first and it was one of those, but I didn't take that as him knowing where to go.
I missed the first 17 minutes.. Guess I should go view them?

Is this the longest time that hgs have been in the house before feeds? It feels like an eternity! Seems like relationships and bonds have been made and broken, people have gotten married, divorced, gotten married again etc...this is so frustrating. I really didn't need the thursday show since for me, the show starts when the feeds start...I honestly didn't care what happened in that show....

I'm not happy Rachel is back.. hoping she is part of a mystery - like she goes missing.. and they have to find her to get her back... (like Julie) .. but they all decide she is not worth it.. .(whatever they try and entice them with .. money...no have nots...yada yada) and they all sit around the living room laughing and celebrating one less person in the house.
