Alyssa said she can’t believe she has to go through a breakup again—she had told herself she would never date again unless it was the person she would marry. Kyle asked how would you know that you would marry someone before you dated them? She said, like the last guy, we were in a relationship for 3 months but we didn’t date, I knew I would never marry him, sorry, guy, but I wouldn’t.
I know things have changed a lot since I was in my 20s, but I equate being in a relationship with “at least” dating. It sounds like to her hooking up for three months without dating means no commitment, i.e., dating is more serious than having sex.

It’s OFFICIALLY over: she just gave him all the candy wrappers with poems printed on them that she’d been saving…
He tells her thanks. They talk/laugh, he said do t make me laugh, the corners of my mouth are cracked and it hurts to laugh. She offers Chap Stick, he declines, saying “naw…I don’t believe in Chap Stick.”

Kyle, believe in it.
Chap Stick IS A THING. It’s totally ok to “believe” in it!
