Humans cry yes irregardless if career but imo based on observation he appears to be extremely needy, anxious, unstable. It's 37 days- get ahold of urself. Its a game.
Actually, people in this situation tend to be more emotional because of the circumstances. I find that perfectly natural and healthy.
In fact, if she was not only his closest ally, but also a real connection (as it appears), then I would expect him to cry.
