Power Trip is coming soon to Channel 5
This year Big Brother is offering housemates the ultimate prize: power!

Whoever has the power will be able to influence, twist and control events in the House like never before in Big Brother: Power Trip.
Big Brother: Power Trip will initiate on launch night with Emma Willis and it will dominate the House for the summer. Housemates will have to be ruthless to seize power, keep it and impose their will on the rest of the house. The housemates aren’t the only ones – viewers will also be given the power to manipulate housemates throughout the series.
This year’s BB House has been completely renovated and redesigned. Gone are the sumptuous furnishings and ornate decorations of the last Celebrity Big Brother House and in their place now feature stark open spaces and sleek, clean lines in a House that looks as though it has been transported from the future. Technology is at its heart.
Emma Willis and Rylan Clark host Big Brother's Bit On the Side, the show that dissects and debates BB. Big Brother's Bit On The Psych is back on Saturday nights with Rylan Clark and Iain Lee, where a panel of experts and psychologists will analyse the "power struggle" in the House across the week. Joining them as a regular panellist on Bit on The Side and Bit On The Psych is Luisa Zissman. She’ll also be a roving reporter for Bit On The Side.
As ever, behind every mirror, multiple cameras will be tracing the housemates every move and as this year’s theme suggests, power is the key. So, who has the power? Big Brother will get back to you!

BBUK launch date of June 5th!
Big Brother 2014: Power Trip will begin on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th June in a two-part ‘live’ launch show, Channel 5 has confirmed.
Both nights will air as a 95-minute show at 9.00pm on Channel 5, followed by Big Brother’s Bit On The Side at 10.35pm & half an hour of live steaming on C5 at 11.35pm.

Marameko, BB Africa is usually posted on their website.
I recommend streaming BBUK off the website. The channel allows it, seems to encourage it & it lets them know who is watching. I think they are aggressively shutting down the youtube sites to get us to switch over. Unfortunately, it's hard to get new viewers but you need a VLC media player to view the streaming.
If you don't already have a VLC media player, download the player; It will ask you if you want to Run or Save the program. I think it's better to Save, for then you can go to where it was saved and open it to see what it's like. If you leave the ticked marks in the player it will leave a shortcut on your desktop, which is easier to locate when you need to use it.

When you open the program from your desktop, list of categories on the left you'll see, then click on Open Media Stream, which will open to another window, and in the tab area, paste in the url

Whoa that's quite a chair! This snuck up on me, I wouldn't have realised it was on but Emma Willis just posted it is launch day tomorrow!
I might take a while to get up to speed on this, not sure how much time I can spend on it right now, so I will be reading all your posts with anticipation!

What I've learned about BBUK so far -
The host Emma Willis drinks vodka & redbull during the live show.
It looks like 16 HM this year.
The HM have all been given IQ tests & are purported to be the brainiest HM ever ready for the "power struggles".
Bigger pool this year.
A glass enclosed 2nd story pod the so-called ‘gogglebox’
Gates to close off pool & gogglebox areas.
The house is not very comfortable or inviting looking & reporters say the couches are very uncomfortable, the dining room table is not very wide so people will be cramped there also. At least they have indoor showers & a tub this year.
I think I read that the bedroom was moved to the old "safe house" location & it features 8 double beds so HM will need to share.

I've read in one of the UK papers that they will have access to some form of social media.
I'm hoping its just to post and they won't be able to read everything.
That VLC stream link above is now just showing the BB eye so I hope it works when the show goes live in just over 5 hours.

How strange, the stream was working 4 hours ago, and has been up & running every time I've checked it since Hober mentioned it. BUT ... the stream never worked except during BB last season, so having the eye only *is* normal.
I bet they just give them tidbits of what has been said about them online. I really doubt that they will have any real access. I don't like them having any public feedback though - this is a popularity contest & that's way too much info for them.
