Well, we are still a long way off (aren't we on 44?), but Jeff Probst announced that Survivor 50 will be "returning players."

My personal preference would be to have non-winners who played a good game and were memorable, but just didn’t get the jury votes at the end. But I’m pretty sure, like Kappy said, we’ll get Jeff’s favorites like Boston Rob and Parvati. 
Am I in the minority for disliking Boston Rob? In my binge-watching of various seasons, he keeps popping up, and I find him more irritating each time I watch him.

If you want to do some git-down hatin' on Boston Rob, go watch the current CBS (I think) series Deal Or No Deal, The Island, or something like that. Boston Rob is playing himself as an elevated BMI middle-aged egotist who is VERY good at winning reality television shows. I still love/hate him, which is what the producers want us to do, LOL.

Boston Rob is doing a great job on Deal or No Deal Island... yes, they are all hating him, but the show would be abysmally boring without him.

I liked Boston Rob on the CBS show that did celebrity renovations for people that impacted their lives. No scheming, just a nice guy from Boston in his element. I think he should head down that career path.

I love Boston Rob! He was joking on Instagram about being open to pre-game alliances.
I think we will see returning players from the "new era". So I'm already setting myself to be disappointed that our old favorites won't be there.

Someone on Twitter mentioned that S50 should be runners-up, or close. As I watch all these past seasons, there are several people who I think were more deserving winners than the one who was named sole survivor. I would like to see Spencer or Malcolm or Lil…Rupert, and some others who I can’t recall at the moment, get another shot. Maybe a tribe of F4s vs a tribe of First Boots. First ones out deserve a second chance too.
I really don’t want any past winners. They’ve done that enough.

I am purposely not posting on the Deal or No Deal thread in order to not bring down the Boston Rob lovefest.
As for S50, if Brandon is brought back, you will feel my silent scream no matter where you live.
I was thinking no to any new era players but then began to remember Drew, Kaleb, Austin, Emily, Katurah, Matt & Frannie.
But an absolute NO to the constant repeats like Rob and Cirie and even Tyson who remains one of my favorites.

I tried to watch Deal or No Deal Island, felt like it was Survivor-Lite with complicated rules and Boston Rob. Ugh! Barely made it through the episode. I have come to the conclusion that I am too much of a curmudgeon for reality TV shows.
I just finished Survivor All Stars. (S8) What a shit show! So many issues with that one.
If there were no live feeds for Big Brother, I wouldn’t watch that TV show either. And also if there was no TVCH, which remains the most unique and pure site on the whole internet!

Survivor 47 begins on Wednesday, Sept. 18th, which is a little over 2 weeks away. I'm finding very little information on the new cast so far. From looking at a sneak preview, I'm going to root for Ms. Delaware, "I'm a big dog, WOOF"! One player is Ayesha Welch, a former podcaster with RHAP. There's another podcaster named John, from Pod Save America. I resent the emphasis in the new era on storytelling over surviving and by casting at least two podcasters, this just proves that is all they care about. UGH! The first episode will be 2 hours and the rest will be 90 minutes.
Dear Survivor - Please prove me wrong!

Jon from Pod Save America is hilarious. He also has a podcast called Lovett or Leave It in the "Crooked Media" (their name) empire that's quite funny.

Tish, I have no doubt that Jon is going to be entertaining. When I looked him up, I was tempted to immediately try various podcasts from that site. I just don't want Survivor to recruit from known personalities over the thousands of normal folk who apply to the show. I admit that when I first saw his name, I misread it as Jon Lovitz, lol!
