Survivor is all about control. You have to be able to control your tribe mates. But just as important, you have to be able to control yourself. Can you say just the right things and act in just the right way – even as you're starving, exhausted and slowly losing your mind from the game's constant pressure?
That's why it's surprising that Monica won immunity. She aced a competition for mental toughness, even as she unraveled.

Laura Morett took the news of her impending vote off pretty well, and Stephen points out that Laura seemed very desperate to put a positive spin on her downfall by relating it back to Ciera growing and maturing through the game. He feels that it’s actually betrayal and bad gameplay, and Laura is too blind to realize it.

Exclusive: Aras Baskauskas talks 'Survivor: Blood vs. Water' (Part 1)
Reality TV World: After you were voted off, Jeff Probst asked yourself and Vytas if the Survivor experience helped bring some closure to your rivalry, and Vytas basically said not really. Did that surprise you? Because you seemed to console Vytas afterwards, assuring him it was okay he still felt that way.
Aras Baskauskas: [Pauses] Did it surprise me that Vytas said, "No?" Yeah, I think, [pauses] it's hard to say. Nothing surprises me with my brother. We've had a long and tumultuous relationship that's gotten much better, but no. I mean, it's not like out of character for him to say that.

Survivor's Aras Baskauskas Is Going to Be a Dad!
Yes, Aras Baskauskas didn't bring home the million on his second time out playing Survivor, but he's not lamenting the loss.
The L.A.-based singer-songwriter has much more important things going on in his life. "I'm going to be a dad," he tells PEOPLE exclusively. "My fiancée is 12 weeks pregnant! Obviously, that's a lot more important than winning Survivor."
It's been a good month for Baskauskas, who recently got engaged to Christy Petersen, his girlfriend of four years. Petersen is a model and clothing designer who runs the Dawn clothing line. "So far so good, if you don't count the morning sickness," says Baskauskas. "Momma and Baby are both healthy, and the little one is due in early June."

Survivor’ Castaway Caleb: Gervase & Tyson ‘Weren’t Being 100% With Us’

Holmes: Why do you think they targeted you before Hayden?
Bankston: I want to think it’s because maybe I was a bigger threat than Hayden. Maybe because of my Tribal Council with the Brad vote. And Gervase had made the comment that he couldn’t read me. They’d be talking, and Hayden called me out on it. He said, “It’s hilarious watching you talk to Tyson and Gervase about a plan because you’ll just nod your head.” And I said, “That means I’m down with it.” And he said, “Well they have no idea that you’re down with it because you’re just kind of silent.” Well, if I don’t have anything to say, I don’t have anything to say. So maybe they couldn’t see where I was standing.

Stephen Fishbach's Survivor Blog: Contestants Draw Rocks in Jaw-Dropping Tribal Council
Hayden wins this week's Fishy Award for making it all happen. Sure, Team Hayden came out on the wrong side of the rocks and it's dollars to donuts he's gone next week if he doesn't win immunity. Nevertheless, he managed to turn a certain loss into a glimmer of hope, a 33 percent chance of fully flipping the game on its head and taking control. If nothing else, he garnered another three days in the game.
