'Survivor' season premiere recap: Twistapalooza
Rupert makes a controversial decision as Survivor: Blood vs. Water kicks off with more twists than a Chubby Checker song
“I was really ticked when Rupert switched with Laura,” Tina tells us later. “Right off the bat he weakens our tribe.” You should be ticked, Tina. You know who else is ticked? Candice! Candice told me in our pre-game chat that she hates Rupert. And now — because her husband has a brain and won’t swap places because he doesn’t want to get his entire tribe pissed at him and then vote his wife out there as well — she is stuck with him at Redemption Island. I smell a sitcom: Beauty & The Boneham!
So off to the tribe beaches we finally go and…oh, well, will you look at that. My recap partner Gervase Peterson has finally caught up. If you want to call it that. Aras is actually carrying Gervase on his back to get him back up to speed, but whatever. Hey, Gervase!"

Parvati Shallow Recaps 'Survivor: Blood vs. Water': Redemption Island Leads to an Emotional Exit
With Aras at the helm, Colton's many desperate attempts at drumming up drama fall flat, leaving him looking like a silly little boy on a tribe full of wise old souls. Things aren't going well for Colton. He's come back into the game trumpeting proclamations of change. Once a victim of his own insecurity, he is now an honest man who has left behind the mean and nasty Colton of old. This episode, we see clearly that this self-professed "new Colton" is a sham, as he scrambles around frantically trying to create chaos at camp harmony. If you think King Aras will allow this discord at his camp, you better think again. Resting gently in Tyson's loving, open arms, he squashes Colton's rebellion with a simple flick of the tongue. "I'm just here to do some camping and win some challenges.” Cool it, Cumbie.

Well it's hard to disagree with because most of it is stuff I've complained about before. It's not lost on me that Tyson is so dismissive of the critique, either, and I say that as someone who likes Tyson generally.
