Thanks! We had hoped it would be on Saturday so we could go see it. The major Houston school district is no holding classes tomorrow to celebrate.

Just want to do a shout out for the Oregon State Beavers, who overcame the odds of the first game loss and won the College World Series through the elimination bracket! Winning Pitcher was a freshman from Oregon who pitched a full 9 inning 2 hitter, which has never been done before. Whooo Hooo Beavs!

I thought the playoffs just started today, but I feel like I have been watching game 7 of the World Series for the past 4 1/2 hours!
Cubs are coming up to bat in the 12th inning tied 1-1. They have used most of the bullpen, 3 of their starting pitchers and just about every position player on the bench.
I don't know who will be left for either team to pitch in Milwaukee on Thursday.

Florin, since my team (Rays) lost to the Astros, you might think that I wouldn't pull for them. Quite the opposite, hoping the Astros continue to win. The Yanks always act like it is their right to win. Time they are taken down a notch.

I can't stress this any stronger. I HATE 7 inning double headers, and also starting extra innings with a man on second!
It's just not how it's supposed to be. I understand doing it last year for the weird short covid season, but this season should go back to normal.
eta: This was triggered because my Cubbies have a double header today.

Did you guys hear how the Cubs have their female TV play by play announcer? Beth Mowins. She's already on my bad side. On her first day, she got lucky to announce a winning game. But instead of yelling the traditional "Cubs Win!!!!", she simply said "And the cubs take it, 3-2" or whatever the score was.

Jimmer, my Aunt Nancy is so mad me! After I brought up the new female announcer and her break with a tradition that everyone loves, she just went on a rant about how much harder she had to work to get that job than any man ever had to do, and how women are judged much harder. I told her I would be complaining if a new man on the job did the same thing, but that didn't save me.

My frustration with the Cubs is at a sky high level. They have traded away all but 2 of players from the World Series team, including Rizzo and Bryant, and we have won only 2 games out of the last 14. There are so many new players in just a couple weeks that almost I wouldn't know it was the Cubs if it wasn't for the uniforms. They better step it up. There's no hope for this year, but they better whip themselves into a team by next spring.

The Cubs game is crazy today! Cubs were losing 6-1 in the top of the 5th, and Cubs loaded the bases with 2 outs. Then Pittsburgh walked in 4 Cubs in a row! Making it 6-5. Then the Pirates changed pitchers and the Cubs got a single and tied it up 6-6! Then it went straight to rain delay while the Cubs still have loaded bases, 2 outs. I never saw 4 walked in runs in a row before!
