I am usually a leader unless it's something I know nothing about, then I am happy to follow.

My whole life I was a leader except for one situation. When I worked at Target I pretty much liked to lay low. The more leadership you showed, the more work you got.

LOL Grooch, can't wait! For me, it depends, I wasn't much of a sweet eater until I gave up alcohol about 5 months ago, now I need sweets everynight before bed. But before that it was ALWAYS savory

I guess more of a leader, but not by being in charge. I am contagious. People tend to do what I am doing. If I start doing a certain chore at work a certain way, then that is how everyone starts doing it.

I have always been a leader. It started when I was in charm school at the age of 13 (LOL I know!! who knew I took charm school hahah) There was a group called the Pacesetters and I was voted President. At work, I worked my way up the leadership chain. My fav thing was mentoring and watching them succeed and become leaders themself!

I never want to be a leader. However, I think others would see me as one because I will speak up when I see an issue or have knowledge that is useful to the discussion. It was fine at work because I eventually became a Manager and it became my role there. But, It is a bit of an issue when I attend the monthly HOA meeting… I have learned not to speak up too much. I have been asked too many times to be on the board, saying no every time. After demurely declining, they started getting a bit aggressive in trying to change my mind. I had to be more forceful late last year telling them no. So, maybe a very reluctant leader in some situations.

I see myself as a cheerleader and enjoy encouraging others. And I make a great wingman, if I like and trust the other person on a project. I'm an idea person and operate on enthusiasm. If I recognize I'm being used though, or unappreciated... buh-bye! I'm as loyal as the day is long and I will stand up for you to my last breath, if the loyalty is appreciated and reciprocated. Not sure if I've answered the question... Basically, it depends on the situation.

I see myself as a follower, as long as the leader does what I want them to. LOL! I prefer being a collaborator/team player/cheerleader. However, I have often found myself put into the leadership position.

I follow until I learn enough to lead. I often break from the pack when something seems wrong to me.. That ranges from elementary school, when I joined a club with girls from my girl scout troop, not in my grade. Just nice girls to hang out with and smart. Then some girls in my class started a club and I went to that. They based theirs on their older sisters bein in sororities. (Detroit had sororities in high school back then). When they found out I was in the other club, the demanded that I quit because they wanted to be exclusive Even my mom though I should go along with that but I wasn't having it. I actually dreaded the thought of sororities in high school but we moved here and I didn't have to deal with that. As an adult I tended to call out BS.. Like one time all the project leaders were called in and our boss was telling of this great plan from his boss to have people working all sorts of hours to supposedly get more computer time. The project leaders were supposed to sell the idea to their team. I wss the only one to say I could tell my team, but I certainly couldn't endorse the changes, which made no sense and just created more work. The change was never implemented, thankfully. But being a leader was never something I sought out. I am a better second in command or cheerleader, as Mame puts it. And I am loyal, an Aries characteristic.

I think of myself as a team player, leading when necessary, but following if appropriate. MB is my cheerleader

When working, I had to be a leader. I am content as a follower, now.

Scooter.. Long ago when I came for a school play, you were impressively in charge and well organized doing your job that night! At least I was impressed!

NEW QUESTION! If you were a salesperson, what do you think you could sell most successfully and why?

I was in sales for years. I was always a top seller. My dad was a great salesman and when I was little I took his fuller brush order book and went around the neighborhood and made sales LOL I then went on to dealing the girl scout crack LOL I have sold everything from sears service parts to makeup. I believe my sales skills helped me to become a leader because I would sell my ideas to my team.

Chocolate brownies and cookies, that sort of thing. I could sit there sampling them and they would see how much I enjoy them and couldn't resist trying them too Anything else and I'd be too tempted to give them tips on how to save their money using something else or doing it by hand.

Flowering plants and fruit and veggies plants. And dirt. And guess what? That's what I do sell. Lol! Don't ask me about shrubs and trees. I'm not that interested in them. And if you ask me for flowering plants that grow in the shade, or what you can plant in a hanging basket in the hot sun, that you will only water every 2 weeks and is deer resistant, I just may lose it on you if I'm heat exhausted or having a bad day.

Not sell, but promote for a good home... DOGS. I loved volunteering for the rescue and going to the adoption events

I am somehow blessed with the knack. 1. I was the 'sample girl' one weekend at a major grocery store. The store called my Temp Agency raving that I'd TRIPLED their sales that weekend! (Ironically, personally, at that time, I wouldn't have consumed that stuff, even if it was free. Not a big fan of eggs, and liquid eggs at that time, just seemed weird.) I pretended to be 'golly-gee' enthusiastic about this new product so the customers got excited to try it. I was 24 at the time. Funnily enough, DH loved that stuff, so about 20 years later, I finally tried it, and it was just fine. It just cracks me up that I did so well on the job with a product that turned me off at the time. 2. A friend of mine had a shop where she sold everything from clothes, to patchwork blankets. All handmade made by her. I was visiting her shop one day and a man came in with his grandkids. He was only looking for a vest for his wife, about $20.00. I chatted him up, showed him the children's section, AND the quilts... I'm proud to say, that he bought $200.00 worth. My pals comment after he left... that now she could afford to treat for lunch!

Ran out of time above... it could use some editing... oh well. 3. When I was Customer Care on the phone at IBM from 2002-2005 on contract, I had a high Escalation Diffusion rate. Meaning, I was able to calm irate customers and avoid escalations to the Complaints Dept. My Supervisor often said... "The Customers love you."

I can't even imagine ever being a salesperson. I sold GS cookies as a child. Being really shy, it was scary to me. I was almost running away before I knocked on the door.
