Thank you! Just waiting for the cab to the theatre.
This is actually the 2nd time I've been upgraded. Years ago when I was covering the Daytime Emmys in New York for a soap magazine I was upgraded to the VIP Floor with all rhe fabulousamenities. It was pretty magical.

Wow that sounds wonderful, Mame! That’s a nice upgrade too, Sugar!

Many years ago we used to drive to Nova Scotia for Christmas with family and it turns out that everyone is in a great mood before Christmas and the hotels were pretty quiet. So we got some nice upgrades.

Hi Mame, first of all, a belated Happy Birthday to you!

As for upgrades, many moons ago, hubby & I were upgraded to a beautiful hotel room due to our room being assigned to another couple for some reason. We enjoyed all the extras given to us.

Thx Jimmer! :-) Eggie, that's awesome. And thank you, it's not belated, today's the day I joined the Septuagenarian club.

NEW QUESTION!

I just picked up a game at the thrift store specifically for this thread and I am going to torture you all with it until I run out of questions. I think it's called table talkers and it says it has thought provoking conversation starters.

Let's see how it goes!

I'll start with an easy one.

Question: Do you prefer eating something sweet or salty? What?

LOL, Grooch.

Sweet or salty? Depends on my mood. Cannot choose. :-)

It depends on my mood as well. But for sweet, I enjoy some watermelon or a Butterfinger candy bar.

For salty, I like a salted avocado or Doritos.

It'd be great to have the poll thread going again! Might take a while for people to find it though, so don't give up!

I prefer sweet, specifically chocolatey. Other random candies I'm not particularly keen on, but I do like some cakes.

I am most definitely a sweet person. Chocolate is not important. I just want pure sugar. In fact when I was a kid, I used to sneak out of the cabinet little sugar cubes just to suck on them. I can always go for a good Tres leches cake slice.

If I want something salty, I like potato chips and French fries are really good, too.

Grooch, were you into dip a stick when you were a kid? I was! The candy where you dip the white stick of candy into the different flavors of sugar. I loved it.

eta: I guess it's called "Fun Dip"

I remember that! And yes!

My problem right now is Easter and jellybeans. Can't have just one. Or two. Or three...

And forget about candy corn. Lol!

I'm surprised I'm not a diabetic. Thank god.

I have a sweet tooth that goes down to my toes. Lol. At the movies my go to snack is Raisinettes (chocolate covered raisins.)

For the rare salty snack, rippled or ruffled potato chips.

Usually salty - tortilla chips or popcorn

If I'm craving sweets, it will be dark chocolate or ginger-something (or the most delicious Chocolove XOXOX that combines both!)

That’s a great idea, Grooch!

Although I ate everything, as a kid I was never as big a fan of chocolate or dessert. I’d still favour the salty now, but I have to say I’m much more of a dessert fan than I used to be.

I’ve always had a weakness for chips.

Salty. Usually and fat on a starch. I like chocolate, but find a lot of sweets to sweet.

NEW QUESTION!

(But you can still answer the last question if you haven't yet.)

Do you see yourself as more of a follower or a leader? Why?

Oh, tricky question. Neither I guess. I would rather not lead, but I don't like to be lead by someone who doesn't know their stuff (whatever the subject is) so follower doesn't fit me either. My pet peeve (in a professional setting) is someone who can't organise!

How about collaborator? :-)

(Just realised that these days "collaborator" is back to having a bit of a bad connotation, but I mean in the innocuous sense.)

As I aged I more likely fell into leader rolls. Some were appointed in the sense I was a team lead, a branch chief, and a division chief. In more social settings I often was what might be perceived as a leader though I could and did easily follow. Nowadays as a retiree I’m pretty much neither a leader or a follower. My role at home is maintenance, supplies, gardener, cook, and cat servant. 😬

It depends on the activity, really. If it's something I am very knowledgeable about, I lead. If not, I'm quite content to follow.
