21 point lead at half time by the Bucs, and what do they choose to do?? They channel the Vikings
What is it about professional athletes, getting paid a whole lot of money just basically quitting?
As I am writing this, they just scored the winning TD in OT. It took them this long to decide to get serious about playing again. I just don't get how people like these do not chose to learn from the mistakes of others.

For anyone picking the Rams for tonight---great insight. I figured it could go either way. Both teams playing fairly well. I went with the Cards because they are home team. At least both teams are playing hard tonight. 4.5 minutes left. 10 point difference. I sure picked wrong lol.

So I already had no idea who to pick for Houston/Jacksonville before the news about Urban Meyer's firing came out this morning and had basically flipped a coin to settle on who I picked. Feeling even less confident about that now. Who knows, maybe dumping him will make them play better...

This year seems to be the year for entire teams quitting half way through the game because they have a good lead. Now we add another form of quitting---not showing up to play to begin with. I refer to the Cardinals/Lions game. The Lions had more losses than the Cardinals had wins---11 losses to 10 wins.
When you play football in Jr High or in high school, there are teams that are actually bad. When a really good team plays a bad team, the coach has to tell the players to not look beyond that game and to play hard---do not "play down to their level" was the term used in my day.
When you are 13--18 years old there are a lot of other things going on---school (hopefully), girls, friends, family activities, to act as distractions. When football is your job though, when you get paid millions, players should be able ot focus on the task at hand. As a team, the Cardinals decided today to go ahead and not take the Lions seriously. At the professional level there is no excuse for this.
The team should not be paid for today, and instead the money they will get should go to the Lions. The Lions have played hard all year, even though they have a horrible record. They have not given up on themselves and the team. I love the game of football. I love that the Loins have not given up. For their approach coming into the game, the Cardinals brought shame to the idea of competition. They disrespected the Lions by looking past them. Too many teams this year have not shown respect to the game of football.

I picked the Raiders and will stick with them, seeing the Browns still have so many out from covid. Looks like the NFL's efforts to sway the outcome of the game by putting it off for 2 days didn't work. And I'm betting the 2-day delay doesn't make any difference on changing the number of people who get infected.

I've been playing football and to watching football since I was a small child. I'm 66 now. I don't think I've been more confused about any aspect of the game than I was tonight watching the Browns/Raiders game. One of the announcers stated:
If the Browns win they are in first place
If the Browns lose they are in last place
The Browns have are ahead in almost every tie breaker scenario

I'm so mad at myself, I was going to change my pick to Minnesota, but had to take one of my pups in to the vet to have her bandage removed and stitches checked, so I was totally distracted!!!

Lance, she's much happier now that they took the bandage off of her head. Now to just keep her from going after the stitches in her ear. Thank you for asking.
