The thing I will miss most about the Olympics this year is idly turning on a sport I’ve never seen before, and ten minutes later muttering ‘my god she’s going to need more than a 4.7 if she wants to wrestle her title back from the Hungarian’

This is hard to write, but I unfortunately am pulling out of all competition at the Olympic Trials due to my foot injury. I’ve been in a lot of pain for a long time, and need to prioritize my health. Thank you to everyone who continues to support me. Black heart

Tokyo Olympic organizers reported the first positive test for COVID-19 in the Olympic Village.
Officials said it was not an athlete. The person is identified as a "games-concerned personnel."
The Games are set to open in just under a week on July 23.

LOL, I watched it this morning, but didn't see the very begining so will rewatch when NBC plays it at 4:30pm Pacific.
It was really cool, don't know if you guys have heard anything but they did an amazing thing with drones, was really cool.
And the athletes were very much into the whole thing. I got teary eyed when I realized it was Naomi Oskaka who lit the torch.
Oh, actually I was teary eyed through a lot of it, LOL. Oh and the history of the "emoji" pictures for the sports was really interesting and very cool.

A little bit slow to start, and somewhat solemn, but there are some really good parts. It was nice to have the memorial.
And I didn't realize at first they were building the Olympic rings.
And now the parade of athletes! Which I noticed last night that they have 2 flag bearers, a male and female.
