never ever buy anything HP. they are useless, customer service is useless. however Costco is great, i bought a printer last year, it is out of warranty, HP refuses to help me with their dried out cartridges eventhoughte cartridges are good until next year according to the package, but costco will take the entire printer back and refund my money. SO, I have to haul it back to the store, but I can buy any other printer now. and install it. so all is good. but never ever HP because they have no wiggle room, they refuse to help you with anything, even when you talk to the supervisor, they keep repeating you are out of warranty, we can not help you with anything. this is about as good as my television which I found had no customer support when I got it home, it was - if something is wrong just replace it, ha ha . figure out how to connect it yourself, and I did. except the television is great. the printer is crap.

yes, even though the printer did not work they were trying to sell me ink, they have an ink subscription. I would just buy one cartridge and get it refilled at costco. I loved my first HP from 30 years ago, it was less than a penny a page for color print. and it worked great, I just wanted a printer that could do bigger photos when I went through a photo age, but the cartridges are no longer made and fostco broke them the last time I got them refilled. but that was an expensive to buy but cheap to run printer. I was looking at an epson in costco - it had a super filler, you poured in ink to refill, no cartridge, and iit could do 3000 pages on a fill, but it cost 400 to buy, i just don't use a printer that much anymore.

I haven't had any troubles with my hp laptop or printer, I do use HP cartridges but I hardly ever print anything and when I do it is normally black/white.

I never had trouble with getting good support from HP, but then again, they are right here in town.

I am on my second Brother laser printer, since 1998, black and white only. But I also don't print much. I spent $250 on my first Brother laser printer in 1998, and that was a LOT of money then. My next one, maybe 10-12 years later was around $100. Over the winter in South Texas, I just do my printing at the local library for 25 cents a page. I have printed out some medical reports and documents for my next trip and probably not spent more than about $7 and didn't spill any ink on myself. And I don't have to store a printer down here or ship it back and forth.

I would buy an HP printer again, but NOT from HP. Customer service is laughable. OMG, yes, what I went through a few years ago with their customer service.

Inkjet printers can be temperamental regardless of the manufacturer, particularly if you don’t print regularly and leave them turned off for a long time.

I've had a Samsung color laser printer for a few years now and I would NEVER go back to an inkjet. Flat out NEVER. Once I went to laser, the problems were just gone.

Yes, it is, Jimmer. It's a Samsung CLX 3180. It's about 6 years old already.
