Perhaps in my youth, before my arms and legs grew to extraordinary lengths.

yes - I was very good at gymnastics in my youth & as a teen. Cheerleading all through Jr High & High School required the ability. I would say NO to now though & I'm not even going to try because I don't want to break anything.

Your answers are making me happy. I was talking about asking this question to my hubby, and he said "they all will except for you." I think he's watched too many cheerleader movies.

Yes, I could perform a proper cartwheel when in grade school. Should I attempt to do so now, 911 must be on speed dial, my orthopedists on standby, children and pets kept inside so they are not traumatized by the horrific spectacle as I go bum over teakettle in a most unladylike fashion whilst breaking all my bones.

I have what might be a complicated question, might be an easy question. I was confused yesterday by a BBC article about Aphantasia, which describes seeing things with your mind's eye. So below is my question, and if it doesn't make sense to you, and you have time, please read the article and tell me if you think you have Aphantasia. There's a test and everything! Question: If I ask you to imagine a big red umbrella, with a black handle and a curved end, what do you "see" with your mind's eye? A) I "see" a red umbrella with a black handle as if it were really there B) I "see" a red umbrella with a black handle but it's a bit hazy. C) Well I don't "see" anything, but I know what a red umbrella with a black handle would look like, so I can bring one up in my memory if that's what you mean. D) something else.

C) I "see" nothing but know what it would look like.

A. I often ask my students if they "see" a book they're reading...for my son and I, a movie plays in our head when we read books. I knew he saw things this way one day when we happened to be driving along, listening to an audiobook. I watched his expressions change to mirror the action happening, and I asked if he was seeing it his head. He was. Pretty cool!
