I vaguely remember my elephant pants being made of felt and being bright banana yellow... a visual nightmare but I thought it was so cool at the time. Ack! I think I was 14 or 15.

It was a fun time even if it was a crazy time clothing-wise.

New Question! I've been outside working on my garden and I've noticed this season that I don't have any bees. It's been a cold, rainy spring, but now it's warmed up and still no bees. I used to have tons of bumble bees and honey bees but nothing so far except for a few carpenter bees and some little teeny, tiny bees that I'm not sure if they can really pollinate things. They're only a few millimeters long. So, my question is, what's the bee situation around where you live? Do you have any, or did they all disappear?

I have seen bees going for the honeysuckle. There are not a whole lot of them.

Thanks, Dogdoc. I went outside to check the catmint after I posted the question. I found 1 lone honeybee on it. It should be swarming. The heather had no bees in late winter and spring. I don't put any chemicals on the lawn (I use the cuttings for mulch in the vegetable garden), I start my veggies by organic seeds, most of my flower beds are perennials and where I do buy flats, I buy from places that grow their own, so I know they don't have that neosecticide (or whatever you call it) so not to kill the bees. I even let the dandelions bloom and not be annoyed by them so the bees have something in the spring. I don't get it.

Haven't seen here or wasps, but was a Monarch butterfly yesterday on my wall over by my doctor's office. Tons of snails. I went out to toss trash in the dumpster last night and ended up collecting about 40 snails..

Funny Grooch, I've seen more bees in the past week than in the last couple years. I'm wondering if we have a beehive somewhere around the house because there's been so many. Caleb ordered some seeds from, I think it was Honey Nut Cheerios?, a while back. It was a free promotion (might still be going on) to plant the flowers for bees. As far as I know he hasn't done it yet, but he's all excited about getting them started. ETA: He has them planted in small containers in the house, excited about transplanting them into the yard at some point.

Over the past few years, bees have been declining. There are studies ongoing trying to figure out why. https://phys.org/news/2016-05-deciphering-mysterious-decline-honey-bees.html http://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2016/05/11/honeybee-decline

Bees have been declining for several years here. We do still have a few. No crazy socks here. Sounds like something they used to do at the roller skating rink. I wear regular white sock almost every day.

I think we've done okay with bees this year, we certainly still have a lot, and when the wisteria was in flower it was buzzing with them.

I wear Fitflop slippers when I am home, or walking around my complex, but when I am out, I wear Skechers and Feetures socks that don't show but are kind of crazy looking. So I guess I wore crazy socks today to drive a patient and work out, but gas, grocery shop..

I did not know it is Crazy Sock Day. I did not wear crazy socks today. Bright red shoes was about as crazy as I got today. Of course I have crazy socks. Here they are: I wear socks every day if it is at all possible. My feet are a really long way from my heart, and they get real cold, even in warm weather. Plus, having always worn socks and sensible shoes, I don't have the calluses and such on my feet that other people do. If I wear shoes without socks, I best have a pocketful of bandaids handy to cover the owies from the shoes rubbing. Thanks for asking, Rosie. I have been wanting to share that tidbit for a very long time.

Had no idea it was crazy sock day. Earlier today, I didn't wear socks, it was too hot, so I was in my flipflop slippers most the day. Once I changed into my jammies, I put on knee high pick/blue striped socks. Probably 90% of my socks would qualify as crazy. I wear pretty sedate clothing, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and tank tops. Don't really go for bright colors or wild patterns. I make up for it with my socks. I have super heroes, bright, neon colors, bold patterns, knee high. To top it off, I rarely bother matching most my socks when I do laundry. I make sure each pair is the same height (ankle, knee, mid-calf) and the same thickness, other than that I don't really care, lol. The fact that my socks tonight are matching is more of a fluke than anything, I just grabbed them out of the dryer and put them on.

I have a set of socks with animals on that my mother bought me. Whatever socks I put on in the morning are worn all day, so sometimes I wear them out, but I doubt they're seen. I always wear socks with shoes, always wear them inside when it's cold, but not when it's warm.

I hate socks. I usually even go barefoot in my boots in winter. I do occasionally wear my craziest socks which also happen to be my favourite pair. They are soft, cozy, white ankle socks with red hearts all over them. I wear them to my Zumba classes (although I haven't been to Zumba in at least a year.)
