Keldogg, they have a really, really tough game against NC. I only hope they can hang with them to the end. If they can, then, I think they can win it. But, if NC gets an early lead... well, that's won't be pretty. On the upside, playing in Phoenix will draw lots of Oregon... and Gonzaga fans!

Where is Gonzaga from? I don't really follow March Madness except for my former boss being really into it, and going to the final four. I just like their name so much, I want them to win.

I think NC plays Oregon and Zags will play SC. Gonzaga is a small private college in Spokane. (That's why it has some great fans. Everyone here roots for them) Small town college meets the big league BB. It's a Catholic school and is most know for it's law degrees.

and known for being an annual cinderella team wouldnt mind seeing them making both the final four and finals for first time in history - too bad they are going down to the 'Heels in the finals if they make it that far - which i think they should be able to do (beat the gamecocks)

I too think the Zags will make the championship game...I'm not so sure if they can win NC. They are a great team this year. I'm hoping for the Zags tho.

The Gonzaga coach, Mark Few, is from a small town in Oregon. He went to Oregon to play baseball, but Oregon cut their program while he was there. After college, he starting coaching basketball at his old high school in Oregon, then moved up to Gonzaga as an assistant coach. Was in the wings for a number of years before becoming head coach. Apparently, the story goes, that when Oregon went looking for a new coach, they wanted Mark Few.... but, he would not leave the Zags and Oregon hired Dana Altman instead. I'm an Oregon fan, but realistically, I don't think they will get past NC. I would like to see the Zags win it all. Best case scenario, Gonzaga and Oregon in the finals (the networks would hate that!). Worst case scenario.... NC versus SC in the finals.

A big High five to Mississippi State! This may be the biggest upset in WOMEN's NCAA semi-finals. Mississippi State just beat U. Conn in overtime. This ends U Conn's winning streak at 111 games. Number 2, Morgan Williams of Mississippi State was the energy of their team. Fun to watch her play. Next up for the Championship, South Carolina vs Mississippi State. Should be a good game!
