I don't know about that, maybe more a 6/10 for me. But I don't like battle/war movies so that might have a lot to do with it. It seemed to borrow from a lot of other movies. Finding out how to bring them down, and telling everyone about it was very much like Independence Day, and the thing with the father and Eckhart's relationship with the son, plus the soldier finally respecting him, all seemed a bit contrived and recycled from other movies. dh liked it though.

Popcorn movie! (i.e. no thinking involved, just sit back & enjoy the show)

Agree with Ketchup. 10/10. But I love these kinds of shows! & I love the shows where there is no thinking involved, just sit back and enjoy like Kona says. Thank you strange man in line in front of me at the Redbox @ Meijer for telling me you were returning it and that my hubby would like it so I should rent it. Added plus that I loved it too!

Yesterday one of the reviewers on Roger Ebert presents said it's one of the worse movies of the year so far

i liked it. hmmmmmm yet hunger games and other weak plotted movies are applauded?? those movie critics must be funded or something. Ebert said he loved The Grey too. it sucked imho.
