The Imitation Game was terrific!!! I liked it more than the Theory of Everything (which was also terrific). Hubby feels just the opposite. While he really enjoyed TIG, he preferred TTOE.

I enjoyed Theory of Everything more than Imitation Game myself. But both are very good films, worth seeing. I think Intersteller may have been my biggest surprise of the year. I didn't go in expecting much and was blown away. My DD, age 13, and I both loved it. Glad to see you did too Ketch!

Last night, I watched The Trip to Italy with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. Hilarious! If you haven't seen The Trip or this one, you really should.

"As Above, So Below" (2014) just showed up on Cinemax, and was pretty good! Most "found footage" movies really stink, but this movie is an exception. I sat through the whole movie wondering where I knew the male lead from. Then it hit me he was the guy from "Mad Men" that went crazy and sliced off his own nipple and gave it to Peggy as a gift....LOL

Finally saw St. Vincent yesterday and the movie is still with me today. That's what I call an excellent movie ~ when you're still thinking about it the next day! Bitterswweet in parts but such a good look at human nature.

This movie I am suggesting is more for fans of scary movies....I mean it's more for the "connoisseur" of scary movies. If you are in that category, please subject yourself to the 2014 scary movie "The Babadook".

Mad Max Fury Road -- thumbs up. I wasn't sure they needed to redo Mad Max, but this isn't a redo, it's another adventure with Max and it's heart pounding action from start to finish with a little bit of emotion. It's no Road Warrior, but it's worth a look.

Pitch Perfect 2 - loved it! Sometimes you just want to see a movie that's silly and funny and for me this one worked. I laughed through most of it and the music was good. I don't know if I would say it was better than the first movie - but it was good in a different way.

Birdman, Oscar winner?? I think the Oscars are out to lunch! Actually, these past years some Oscar winners let me very disappointed, but this one is too much. I did not like the story or its meaning, I could have done with less profanity as well... what a waste of time watching this movie (and I was very patient to wait till the end just to see if maybe I was missing something..)

Interstellar. LOVE. Usually it takes me at least two watches to decide I will fully love a movie. Interstellar got me with one. The score was brilliant.

Any suggestions for a movie out now that would be appropriate for an 11 year old girl. Not really looking for something cartoonish, although if it's a good movie I wouldn't rule it out. We have a new drive in in the area and I'd like to watch for something to take Melodie to. I think she'd get a kick out of the experience but I just don't watch movies and don't want to take her to something that embarrasses us both. LOL

Not yet, Mame. It hasn't been on when she's been able to go with me, but it is on my list.

I finally saw "Boyhood" last night. And at 2 hours and 44 minutes, it was much too short! Yes, that means I loved it. It helps to be a fan of storylines that involve scenes of fairly intense psychological warfare.
