This weekend I watched Chef, which I really enjoyed and made me so hungry for a Cubano. I also watched The Interview. A few funny lines but otherwise, bomb. It definitely got a boost from all the brouhaha.

Chef really was an enjoyable film. I saw it on an airplane. Was glad to see they had some art film type offerings on the airplane.

Watched Nightcrawler on demand today. I'm a fan of Jake Gyllenhaal and he is a very good and very icky creep.

Yes. Nice little art film particularly notable for natural dialogue and being filmed over the course of 12 years. Love the two leads.

I guess I'll check it out but I think I'll try Theory Of Rverything first. Is it Oscar worthy?

Theory of Everything is Oscar Worthy! As for Boyhood. I understand why it's getting nominated because it was innovative and risky and when you go out on a limb like that and it works, it's nice to get rewarded. But did I say "WOW!" after it was over? No. I did for Interstellar. And for Theory of Everything. And for Still Alice. Wild. American Sniper. But I think film lovers should see Boyhood.

Thanks for the insight. I so seldom watch movies I want to be sure to pick the right ones and I was waffling on Boyhood. I think I'll wait to watch it when it's free.

I watched The Theory of Everything last night. I am going to cut to the chase and just hand Eddie Redmayne his Oscar now. He was amazing!

Lol, Mamie - I've seen three of the male performances and they can ALL win in my book! What a strong group this year! I watched Boyhood last night and found it just okay.

Saw the 2nd Marigold Hotel movie yesterday. I will say that the story is fairly predictable. However, the performances are masterful. Maggie Smith stole every scene that she was in, even when her and Dame Judi Dench were talking. She made the movie. LOVE HER!!

Enjoyed the 2nd Best Exotice Marigold Hotel. I admit that I just want to go on watching these people for ever so for that, I could excuse the predictability of the story. I did like the new characters that were added in. Warning ~ pack some extra kleenex! I was quite weepy at the end. It's just wonderful reminder of the choices that we can make as we age.

Kappy, I was also very weepy at the end. Truly not as good as the first, but excellent as part of the whole package. It SEEMED like an obvious plot, but there were still plenty of surprises for me. :-)

Just saw Focus with Will Smith last night. I thought it was fabulous, very engaging and entertaining. Loved all the music and the scenery/sets in Brazil were gorgeous, we stayed to the end reading the credits because I was hoping they would thank the night club they were in and we could find out it's name to google, LOL. One of my friends said it sort of reminded her of Thomas Crown Affair, it was a great time at the movies, and I don't go very often, LOL.

I finally saw "The Imitation Game" tonight on Blu-ray. A truly amazing film about a truly amazing English hero who happened to also be gay. It's about time the world gets to know Alan Turing's story via this great film.

I am really looking forward to seeing it as well Uncle Ricky, my dd is bringing it over tonight. But I have read that it's not all that accurate, might want to take the historical stuff with a grain of salt.
