Django - 10/10. Considering the subject matter and era of the film neither the violence nor use of the "N" word was shocking.
The cast and acting were wonderful and there were many humorous moments when everyone in the theater was laughing. Best movie I've seen in a long time.

I saw "Promised Land" Sunday - nothing fascinating or earth-shattering but a pleasant way to spend a rainy afternoon -

I can't stop thinking about "The Impossible" the tsunami movie with Naomi Watts. I thought it was an excellent movie and want to see it again - which is rare with movies these days.

We saw Gangster Squad yesterday, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The shoot 'em up sections are VERY shoot 'em up, but there is a strong story that drives the movie.

Silver Linings Playbook with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence is a great movie. While it has some very funny scenes throughout the movie, there is one scene at the dance contest towards the end which had me laughing so hard I cried. I don't think I laughed this much at a movie since Bridesmaids.

Warm Bodies was the best movie I've seen in a long time.

Might be aimed at girls and romantics but it's sweet, funny and touching.

10/10 take your daughters

I agree Kitt. We saw it yesterday with both our dds (16 and 20) and we all absolutely loved it. Nicholas has sure changed since 'About a Boy', great transition into an adult role.

Quartet" was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I guess you really have to be over 40 or so to see yourself in it, but it was marvelously acted! I love Maggie Smith, but she was matched on every side by equally skilled players!

If you go - and you SHOULD - be sure and stay for the credits. Alongside them are shown vignettes of many of the supporting cast and what they actually did in the music world before they retired! Very immpressive bunch!

The Paperboy. Wanted to see it because I saw a clip and heard it could be Nicole Kidman's best-ever acting job. YES. Didn't know movie was going to be "artsy fartsy" which turns me off. Not this time. I liked it. Set in Florida (but partly filmed in Louisiana bayous) in '69. Could see Ann-Margret in Nicole's role in '69. Wasn't expecting anything in particular, but nothing like it was! Took a number of turns during the movie. I like it.

The Call. suspenseful, some parts totally unbelievable. I'm very surprised Halle signed on for this role, it seems a little beneath her.

I will add that we went on a Fri night and the audience was having lots of fun with this movie. yelling at the screen, groaning, and applauding. It made it really fun

"Hitchcock" starring Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock and Helen Mirren as his wife and partner. Great movie - very well cast. Scarlett Johanssen is terrific as Janet Leigh, and the Anthony Perkins role may as well have been played by Anthony Perkins - the guy was a doppelganger. We both liked it a great deal. 8/10.
