Interesting. It's getting pretty mediocre reviews, but I love DiCaprio so I'll go see it, probably next weekend.

I'm planning to see this tomorrow, in spite of the bad reviews. Big decision is whether to see it in 3D or not. Leonardo is just about my favorite actor, so I'll enjoy it for that reason alone.

Neighbor saw it and liked it a lot, if that helps. He's male and 92 (so essentially he's been alive to see every version of Gatsby ever to hit the big screen LOL).

We have a local cinema pub here that started doing breakfast movies on weekends. Today, in honor of Mother's Day, women got free admission and free popcorn! Hubby and I went to an 8:30 AM showing of Gatsby in 3D. I enjoyed it. The scenery and cinematography were breathtaking, especially in 3D. Must say though, I've never seen any other versions and never read the book so have no basis for comparison.

Never saw the other movies/never read the book, so didn't know the story. No reason to see it in 3D except it makes the parties and the city scapes more interesting, I guess. Regardless, very depressed when we walked out of the theater.

Well it is kind of a depressing book, right? (It has been years since I read it.)

DD and her friends liked it very much, but they are familiar with the story.
