Ive just been reading up on this because I wanted to take my son whos almost 7.... but from the sounds of it, its not for the "under 10" crowd. Too bad.

Yeah, Common Sense Media gives it an "age 9". I would tend to agree with that. It's by a guy who worked on Corpse Bride and Coraline (BTW, Coraline was very creepy and my DD hated that film, even at home on home vide, not in the theater.)
We both liked Paranorman, but I would say it is scary and dark and a bit creepy. It's also set in a town that brings to mind Salem Mass, so it goes into what I'd call sophisticated, adult issues. I like when animated films are not just juvenile burp jokes, so I appreciated that about this film. But I agree, not for the little kids.
