You can't believe the costumes that people actually wore to attend!!! So creative and awesome but HOT!

Just before Talking Dead is the Interview with the Vampire premiere (which I will also be watching!).
Looks like S11E18 will also be available this Sunday if you have AMC+, although I was pleased to read they aren't going to release the finale a week early, it will premiere on AMC+ the same day as it airs on AMC.

I hope they have a satisfying ending but I doubt it with all the spin offs. I feel we will be left hanging on many stories and we also know who for sure wont die

Yes, it's hard to see how they can get a satisfying resolution when we know the main people we care about - Daryl, Carol, Maggie, Negan (I use "care" loosely on those last two) - have stories that will continue.
I guess maybe they find a safe home for people like Judith, so that they feel they can go on these other tasks. Makes me think they are going to take over the Commonwealth.

Yes, slim pickings really.
I thought last night that the CRM must be brought into the finale too, as I can't see any way for Daryl to get to France for his spin off without them. Commonwealth is big but not high tech from what we've seen. Or maybe we find out CRM and Commonwealth are connected in some way.

It was exciting tonight! I was relieved about Jerry, King Jerry and Queen Nabila sounds like a good idea. I think now Mercer sees Eugene had the honour to protect Max that he'll realise he should work with them and not go along with it all.
Wonder how many smart walkers we'll see in this series before the end.

I'll be on a plane next Sunday so will miss the excitement. I think the UK has TWD streaming on Disney+, so I should be able to see it on Monday when I land, which I am happy about. If I had to wait two weeks I'm not sure there's any chance I wouldn't be spoiled on who dies and who lives or who comes back before I get a chance to see it!

During the Making Of they said they tried to make the finale as thrilling as possible, and I thought the season had been solid, but I would never have said "thrilling." Then tonight's episode I was on the edge of my seat!
I can't imagine Judith doesn't survive, but it would explain Daryl going off on his own.

I wondered if they'd had to rewrite or even scrap Rick's role in the finale because covid scrapped those Rick movies.
I got the impression the movies were going to show him with the CRM (remember he was taken in a CRM helicopter), and then how he progressed there, essentially filling in the time gap from when he left the show eight(?) show years ago until the current time, when he could be reunited with the rest of the cast. I thought the TWD: World Beyond show which introduced the CRM, was partly to show what the CRM was like ready for this, so it didn't have to all be played out as exposition in the Rick movies.
Without the movies, and with Michonne leaving, I think they're going to use the Rick & Michonne series to show how she found him at the CRM somehow, perhaps limiting a lot of what they'd planned for Rick and the CRM. But if Rick and Michonne come back for the finale then it limits the punch of the Rick & Michonne series. It would all be basically backstory.
There are rumours of an after the show extra scene next week, and perhaps that would be ideal for Rick & Michonne to come back and have a happy ending reuniting with Judith and RJ. I suppose there could be the equivalent of a "you won't believe what we've been through to get here" moment that sets the Rick & Michonne show up for their backstory.
It doesn't seem right that he wouldn't be there in some capacity.

I watched the finale, really enjoyed it. First impression is that I don’t think it would have been enough if there weren’t going to do the sequels, but as they are, I don’t feel we’ve quite said goodbye so I’m ok.
Glad not too many deaths.
So Rick is/was a CRM convict, interesting… guess he did not play the game.

For me....kind of wha wha wha. But I did enjoy it. Maybe knowing who has spinoffs affected that? You are right, because we knew, it made it all right.
They showed walkers 2.0 that climbed and held rocks to break glass etc....but they really didn't address it. Maybe they are setting up the walkers in the future shows?
I thought it strange, a year later, there were hardly any walkers around the compound. I realize the fireball decimated the walker population...but a year later there should be more of them?
Side note: At the reunion, I was surprised Steve Yeun did a video goodbye. He was so hurt they killed him off, basically for shock value. He refused all further interactions with the show. They tried to bring him back in scenes from people's dreams etc. but he refused. He resoundingly shut the door. He keeps in touch with the actors...so maybe it was in deference to his cast members.
The Talking Dead definitely served as emotional therapy throughout the seasons. It helped me cope when we lost beloved cast members. Especially when Glenn and Abraham were killed. Many fans stopped watching after that, and they did not regain that viewer loss after. I'm glad they are going to continue with the after show

I read something by Angela Kang (or similar) saying it just wasn’t possible to give every character a satisfying ending, and I really felt that. Characters like Connie and Kelly, who I really like, we’re kind of like background characters. I wish they’d spent a little longer with the one year later part.
I do think the smart walkers were thrown in these last few episodes just to set up Daryl’s show in France, as The World Beyond told us there were smart walkers there. They probably didn’t want it to come out of the blue for people who didn’t see that. I also wondered if smart walkers would be in New York too, as, if it’s cut off around Manhattan island, you might expect more evolution of the virus in a confined community. It would give them an opportunity for more exciting scenes.
Talking of cities, it showed Rick looking at a skyline, anyone recognize that?
Yes, sitting by that lake without a care (of walkers) in the world seems unlikely!
I’m away and can’t see Talking Dead until I get back. They usually only do a premiere and finale show for Fear TWD, they’ll feel really second class, if the new shows get a weekly Talking! That explains why Chris Hardwick hasn’t been as tearful as I’d thought he’d be lately.
And I didn’t know that about Glenn, that’s sad, he (actor) always seems like a sweet guy, makes it worse that they hurt him.
I might have finally got over my dislike of Negan. Even as a viewer and not Maggie, I just can’t get over him killing Glenn, there’s nothing really he could do to make me not think of that. But with the last few episodes I do finally believe he regrets what he did and understands the enormity of it. Before he was kinda bothsidesing it. They did a good job of fixing that in time for his spin off.

I enjoyed the finale. I was bummed we didnt get to see Rick and Michonne reunite with their kids but realize they need to save that for their series.
Since, this show ended for me when Glenn died but I kept watching, just didnt care that much anymore.
Kitt, I justify forgiving Negan by saying Rick started it. They went in and killed Negan's people so Negan told them he was retaliating for that. I have always thought that if we werent watching this show from Rick's eyes they would be considered the bad guys. Every where they went ended up destroyed.
I love Talking dead and hope they do it for the spinoffs

That's why I think he's bothsidesing it. Rick's group killed people after being told by the other groups that they were terrorising them, and after having some of Negan's group hijack (word?) some of them on the road. Sure some of the people might have been normal folk and didn't deserve to die, but the attack wasn't personal, it was strategic and battle-like.
I can understand the Saviours thinking Rick's group were bad guys, but the response to that would be either taking out all of them, or maybe taking out the leaders or anyone they could find. But what Negan did was psychotic. He tormented them and randomly chose Abraham and Glenn and smashed their heads in in front of the others. An awful way to die and an awful thing to witness. Perhaps I could understand him choosing Abraham - a soldier-like person who Negan probably thought was one of the leaders or at least a huge asset - but then to do Glenn too, a young guy, not threatening, and then chosen because Daryl spoke back to him, seemingly to impart maximum pain on the group.
As I said, I wouldn't be able to get over it ;).
For me, the show changed at Terminus, when they lined people up over the trough to slit their necks, but (naturally) they were rescued before they got to Glenn and Daryl. I remember my body standing itself up out of the chair ready to run from the room without any conscious thought from me, it was just too much. After that I decided I just couldn't risk it to care so much for the characters. Such a shame when that happens when it's a show you love.
I really think the writers didn't understand the difference between violence in comic book form and how the scenes played out in person with live actors. It's a totally different medium, and it's like because people could stomach scenes in cartoon pictures they thought they could stomach them in real life. I could not!

Well it's official! It's going to be Carol and Daryl! YEY! She is back! They showed the first teaser scene of Daryl washing up on the zombie infested shores of France. Don't know how Carol gets there. But she is going to be there. So happy!

At San Diego Comic Con they've announced the Rick and Michonne show will be called "The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live."
