Lexie I have been looking up the history too and they have the characters down pat. I will be so interested to see how the Gladys story develops. She is based on Consuelo Vanderbilt.

I think of the Gilded age as the Downton Abbey for NYC. I enjoy it, probably not as much as Downton, but very much!

Thanks for that, very interesting (also learned that the girl (who's 30 in real life) who plays Gladys is the sister of Vera Farmiga who was Norman Bates' mother in The Bates Motel series).

Kitt, yes, so many famous names! Plus, Jeanne Tripplehorn. I think she's only in the first season.

I recently bought the audiobook Astor: the rise and fall of an American fortune. Hadn't listened to it yet. Just started listening to it and it starts with his meeting Brooks Astor when he was 12.

The girl who plays Gladys, (Taissa Farmiga) was also the daughter in the first season of "American Horror Story". That's where I remember her most from. She's done quite a few movies as well. Ironically, I went to see her in the horror movie "The Nun 2" with the crazy Nun I was renting a room to.
