OMG! OMG! I didn't know a series was coming with the real Dexter! YAY!
"Dexter: Resurrection" will stream its two-episode premiere Friday, July 11 on Paramount+ With Showtime, before airing on the cable Sunday, July 13 at 8/7c. Episodes will then roll out weekly.

It ends up he wasn't killed at the end of "New Blood". He's been in a coma!

I think I have watched the original at least 5 or 6 times from beginning to end. It's so hard to find time to rewatch any old favs anymore with all the new shows coming from the streaming services. I can't keep up!

Michael C Hall was on Colbert last night and he really seems happy for Dexter to come back. Especially since it was his idea.
I can't wait to see what happens with Peter Dinklage's and Uma Thurman's characters!

I was just thinking how in this Dexter world, Harrison is out there serial killing, too! I wonder if we'll be hearing anything about Harrison. I honestly don't care to see anything about Harrison if it's the same actor that played him in New Blood. He needs to be played by somebody more likeable if he comes back.

I started the original Dexter again today for while I am cleaning the house, and I had forgotten how much we all loved Rita.
I had also forgotten how much we all hated Doakes right from the beginning. He was a jerk to Dexter from the very first ep.

yeah, the Rita fate was so hard I skipped that season when I rewatched Dexter a couple years back.

Anybody watch the first two eps yet? It’s Dexter, so I’m glad to have it back, but not sure that I actually liked it.

I started it and got about about 10 mins and realized I couldn't pay attention because I was too tired. I'll try again later today, but I got the feeling I wasn't liking it in those few minutes.

I think this one and New Blood are just so serious and dark, whereas the original and Original Sin had a lightness about it. Don’t know if it’s the difference between Miami and New York or what exactly.

I agree. I think Miami was the best backdrop for Dexter. I also think him working for the PD was the best place for him. I was hoping, since he was cleared, that he could get a job at NYPD.
BBpeach, I also agree it wasn't the greatest 2 eps but I am just happy to have him back on my screen. Lots of plot holes but I will forgive them because of my love for the show.
I think the Peter Dinklage storyline may be jumping the shark but I hope I am wrong because I want more seasons

I may have misjudged, but I was pretty sure the audience made it clear during New Blood that we weren't interested in Harrison the serial killer. It's cancellation after season one made that clear to me. None of us were upset about it at all.
I really hope Dexter following Harrison around is just a season one thing. Maybe to transition us out of New Blood. Have him go to prison or get killed off.
Otherwise, I love seeing our Dexter again along with some of the old crew. I miss Deb.

I need to watch some old Dexter's before watching the new episodes.
Back in the day, I read all the Dexter books and then started watching the series. I'm not sure why, but it probably was the life happened and I stopped watching Dexter.
