Dexter: Original Sin is about young Dexter. All I know about the timeline is that Deb is still in high school.
It's got an interesting cast, like Christian Slater as Harry Morgan. The guy who plays a younger "Angel" actually looks and sounds like him! Check him out int he trailer. Michael C. Hall narrates, so at least we'll get the original Dexter feel to it.
It premieres Dec 15, on Showtime/Paramount+.

They wrapped the Hollywood sign in plastic wrap to advertise this series!! It looked so cool!

haha~ and apparently they did a whole slew of those fake photos at different locations for the promotion.
BUT, they did male a real one!
The very first one on this page as well as the bottom 2 photos of Long Beach with all the palm trees, are real.

I really liked the first episode! Felt much more like the original than New Blood did. Great to see young Masuka, Angel, Deb etc.

Loved it! But I'm not thrilled about the casting for Deb. For all of the characters, I was able to let my mind think of them as their younger selves, except for Deb.

I want to see a young Doakes! I thought it was going to be the actor from Mike and Molly but he wasnt named Doakes

If they make it to 1997 in the series, that's when Doakes joined Miami Metro. That's still at least 2-3 years from where the show is right now. Dexter fan wiki says it was 1994-95 when Dexter started at Miami Metro.
ETA: I also looked up to see if McDreamy's character (Capt Spencer) was ever a part of the original Dexter, and he wasn't.

I added Showtime to Paramount + and just watched ep 5, so I guess it depends on how you watch as to when the eps are available? I had seen that it said “New Episodes on Fridays” but since the first one was on Sunday I just always watched on Sunday. Lack of finding anything else tonight made me decide to look and it was there.

I think last week it came out on a Friday as well.
This ep was sad when we learn that his mom wanted him to get therapy and Harry objected. I think Harry liked that he would kill the bad guys that got away.
I would think they would have to introduce Dr Vogel at some point

I wasn't quite sure what the ending with Spencer in the convenient store meant. Was it hinting he's the child killer?

I think we're meant to be thinking it's him, yes. Dexter noticed the kidnapper had Spencer's blood type, and now Spencer's in a store, buying his sons little tray meals, the same ones the kidnapper has been feeding his son and the other little boy. I was shocked!
