As a side note, when Victor was married to Julia, she was having an affair, and when Victor found out he built the cell in the basement and kept her lover prisoner there for a while. Never thought he'd find a reason to use that cell again, but as soon as he told Nikki the story about Jordan falling off the bridge I knew exactly where she really was...

Yesterday's Y&R was so depressing. I hated it. They didn't have to go that far with Jack. I'm hoping he is faking everything to get through to Nikki, but it didn't look like faking when he fell.
Pschrfhd, I remember that storyline. He had an operating table in the cell at that time and could watch the guy on a screen upstairs.

Who is Billy’s mom? And why is she always only shown on a laptop?? Like why not have her in person like every other actor??
Holy Cow is Diana (Diane?) a blanking beech! She is nasty to Kyle and now ridiculous to Jack. Has she always been this bizarre? Like is she Kyle’s real mom? What mom would be like that with their kid??

Julie, Billy's mom is Jill Foster Abbot Fenmore (previously Chancellor, Reynolds, Brooks, Thurston, Sterling and Atkinson), one of the few remaining original characters on the show. She was married for a short time to John Abbot (Jack, Ashley & Tracy's father) and together they had Billy. I don't know (and Wikipedia doesn't say) how old the actress who plays her, Jess Walton, is, but she's been playing Jill since 1987, so I suspect her age is one factor that has her appearing via laptop. She still does show up in person every once in a while, mostly for special occasions.
As for Diane, she's actually been way more bizarre than this in the past, but she is Kyle's real mom.

I think her true personality for the character is starting to appear. Many told Jack she hadn't changed and to watch out for her, but he didn't listen. I think it may be starting that she will attempt to isolate him and try to take over the business.
I think she has always been a scammer but I don't really know everything about her previous time before she pretended to die.

Diane faked her own death years ago and set Nikki up to be blamed for it. She was away until these past couple of years. Kyle and everyone thought she was dead all this time. Kyle was raised by Jack. I keep saying that she is faking the turnaround act so maybe her true colors are coming out. Just hope Jack doesn't get burned.
Jess Walter (Jill) lives like in Montana or somewhere like that and lost her husband last year so I feel as if she is staying close to home and dialing in her little spots she is on. She has appeared live a couple of times.

Why does Y&R want me to dislike Diane and Audra so much? And Summer?

One more question:
(I’m a relatively recent viewer, only like 3 or 5 years maybe), anyways, didn’t Victor have resources enough to locate Claire when she was kidnapped? And how did that happen? How old was Claire? How come I’ve never heard Victoria lament about her kidnapped child before (like several years ago)? Was it one of those things where she didn’t know she had a kid??

Julie - Victoria and Cole were told that their baby (Eve) had died while they were still in the hospital after her birth. Therefore, there was no reason for Victor or anyone else to go looking for her. And they did mourn her deeply at the time, but soap opera life goes on...

I wasn't watching back then. I have a question. Since Jordan stole the baby, and there was supposedly a dead baby, didn't the mother of the dead baby wonder where the little body was? I think I've heard Victoria say they buried their baby. If so, I'm puzzled!

Mak - That one will have to be chalked up to the magic of soap opera writing, just like when Sharon was told her baby had died when really Adam had stolen her and given her to Ashley. No dead body that time either, far as I can remember.

Julie - I had to research this one, and the whole story is too convoluted to type out, but Adam did go to jail for a little while. He breaks out to attend a masquerade ball but after an explosion there he is identified as dead, so leaves town until he has to come back to testify so that Nick doesn't get blamed for Adam's murder. Try Googling Adam Newman Y&R and you can find the whole sordid story on Wikipedia.

Thank you!! I always wondered why everyone thinks so lowly of Adam and wondered what he had done. And that sure does sound convoluted to have someone break out of prison/jail and then attend a party!!
