"Bree announcing a certain something that actually DOES send them back eventually. (Trying not to spoil it for non-book watchers.)"

I'm a non-book watcher. The phrase "actually DOES send them back eventually" is definitely a book spoiler because it hasn't happened in the series. Now I believe that it will. :-(

I don't know if they'll include that part. I thought it was weird that they went back so early, cause in the book Jemmy was definitely older. They've rewritten parts of the story.

I understand that sometimes changes are needed (and for the better) when a book is transferred to the screen. However, I find these changes quite puzzling.

I'm so sorry, Sanfran!!! I didn't even think of it that way.

Jimmer - same. That change this season and the entire finale of S4 where Jamie and Claire didn't get back in time for Jem's birth not only puzzled me but pissed me off!! That was the KEY event that brought Jamie and Bree closer, and they skipped it entirely.

So now Outlander is in Season 6. I quite enjoyed the show yesterday. I have not read the books in order. I have read Written In my Own Hearts Blood, and Go Tell the Bees That I Have Gone. Going to now go back and read the 6th book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. Someone told me that's not necessary, they said they are not sticking to the book anyway. I think I will enjoy it anyway.

So can I now talk about the episode a little bit? I found it interesting that they wanted Jamie to do the lashing of Tom's son (is it Allen?). But shouldn't the shirt have torn? Since Jamie has been beaten so much, he should be sympathetic.

Now that I've seen episode 2,and am reading A Breath of Snow And Ashes, I see that they are following along with the book more. I can't remember what they called it, but they used to show an after the show segment. I always liked it. I wonder if they will bring it back? They have not so far.

love the books and show!
Hecka, Jamie had to do the lashings because it was on his land.

This show reminds us that we have always lived in a dangerous but beautiful world.

Anyone remember what they called the show after the show? Where the producers talked about it? Wish they would bring it back.

I thought I remembered them doing that, too. HBO does that with a lot of their shows.

MBR (Matt B Roberts - showrunner) said they did not do the "after the show" segments for S6 of Outlander. Probably because they were shooting under Covid protocols and it's a shortened season. Once in a while there will be a BTS video posted on Twitter through the official account @Outlander_Starz.

I've noticed they've been showing the actors talking about it on Facebook. Very similar to the "after the show" talks.

Really been enjoying the shows. They are going along with the book quite a bit.

I had watched the first 5 seasons on Netflix and I was quite shocked, I didn't know it was so ... you know. But what a wonderful story. I saw the 6th season on our Canadian channel and disappointed it was so short, but looks like there will be another season, since there is a cliffhanger. We'll come back here to see if there are any news. I'd better go get the book !

Spunky - they are shooting season 7 right now. It will be an expanded season - 16 eps like season 1 - since they're adding the 4 eps they cut short from Season 6. I loved season 6 anyway - the eps were longer and they seemed to spend more "quiet" time with Jamie and Claire, which has always been my favorite parts of the books.

So looking forward to the new season. I already claimed the $5/month offer and already paid through PayPal,but so far Roku has not been able to handle the new offer. Still showing the old stuff. Hope they get it figured out by Friday!

I've got it downloaded to my Roku! Yay! That's why I wanted to set it up early. Now there better not be any delays.

I just burned through season 6. Hate those cliff hangers! I'm not sure I love this show enough to pay for Starz. I think I'll wait until another Starz free week and get caught up then. Enjoy!

Heckagirl - sorta. They're wrapping up the end of book 6 (A Breath of Snow and Ashes) in the first 2-4 eps; then they're covering An Echo in the Bone AND Maril has also said they're pulling in parts of Book 8 (Written in My Own Heart's Blood). That way they can use Bees for next season - even though it's not the *last* book, it's as much as DG as written.

Loving season 7- though w/ having to condense such massively huge books, it did feel like we didn't have the connection to the Bugs we should've had. They managed to get Mrs. Fitz connected - but missed out on those opportunities w/the Bugs in S5 and 6 - and actually made Murdina Bug unlikeable in S6 w/the Christies storyline!

No mention of Sinead O'Conner singing the theme song. I thought I heard that she did. Was that wrong? Her death was announced today. She was only 56.
