It was a good finale but what did Shaun mean at the end when he said it (referring to the baby) was a gift from Lea’s grandfather? Did they mention him in this episode?
It bothers me that they portray Glassman as someone who can’t get over Shaun’s actions. He knows Shaun and his motivation. And I don’t feel he would let anything Shaun did or say “humiliate” him.
I also don’t get why Danny would have to go to Texas. He didn’t take any opioids intentionally. Wouldn’t he just see first, if he could make sure to not take any? Or at least try the NA meetings where he currently lives?

He was not referring to Leah's grandfather, he was talking to the baby when he said "this is a gift from your grandfather" as he wrapped the blanket Glassman had given them, around the baby. I think you got confused because Shaun moved his head and looked in Leah's direction as he said the words "from your grandfather".

He knows Shaun, but he also has a stubborn personality and he does have an altered brain.
He is definitely considered the grandpa of baby Steve. Consider the hat that would have been his.
I hope the writers strike doesn't cause them to lose key characters.

Loved the ep. But since Leah has parents who have appeared in other episodes, why weren't they even mentioned, never mind that they weren't there for the birth of their grandchild, either in person or by zoom???? Especially since 'Grandpa' Glassy was the main storyline! The writers dropping the ball on this important detail really bugged me.

They had to write him out of the series since the actor took a part in a new series. "On Call"

Coming from a family of addictive personalities (not me, thankfully), I understood why Danny had to leave -- besides the new job on another show. Even though he didn't take the opioids intentionally, his body has had a "taste" and will want more. It's like if you love chocolate, and you have a taste, you will crave more. Many addicts who have been clean for a while will make the mistake of going back to the dosage they were taking before they quit, which will be too much for someone who was clean. That's why so many overdose if they've been clean for a while. It's a terrible disease. I've seen it firsthand, but thank God I didn't inherit that particular gene. I do love chocolate, though!

I was hoping against hope that he was just injured and not killed.
Then I saw an instagram post by Noah Galvin (the actor) saying how much he had enjoyed his time on the show.
I was shocked, heartsick, and bawled like a baby. The last 2 episodes with his story arc, really resonated with me.

Yes it was a memorial of Asher with a big picture. Lea is telling Shaun that he needs to deal with this loss.
I was so sad for Asher's boyfriend, sitting in the restaurant, ready to propose, and hope that the Rabbi told him that Asher had said he was going to accept.
As soon as he walked away from the Rabbi into the darkness without calling 911, I was really concerned.
