We just binged 7 of the 8 episodes of the wonderful 2022 Australian series DARBY AND JOAN, so far. It's an original murder-mystery comedy-drama. Can't find any info regarding cancellation (or hopefully) renewal regarding a 2nd season. I felt that ACORN TV deserved a thread of it's very own, like HBO & others. The all-inclusive Brit thread is too confusing for me.

I loved having Acorn - my favorites were A Place To Call Home, Janet King, and Line of Duty (which I think has jumped to BBC). I watched a few other one season shows that were also good, but it's been a couple years.

Teach, A PLACE TO CALL HOME was absolutely stellar, I binged the entire series in less than a week. It really messed with my sleep schedule. Lol.

I also enjoyed the 1st season of HARRY WILD. Jane Seymour is a hoot. Glad it's been renewed.

Mame - that's what APTCH did to me as well. Only 3 seasons were out when I first found it, and I watched them all in a week whilst teaching full time AND rehearsing for a musical 4 hours a night! Let's just say my paper grading suffered! LOL

Just finished all 3 eps of Senora Volpe on Acorn. Total pleasure. Wish there were more!

Started 'Queen's of Mystery'. Not sure if I'll stick with it yet. It's too cutesy by half. Suitable for a kids show, but weird for a cosy mystery. DH and I are enjoying 'My Life Is Murder'. An Australian murder mystery series starring Lucy Lawless.

We just started "Beyond Paradise" (a spinoff of "Death in Paradise," which originally we didn't care for, but now I want to go back and give it another chance). We enjoyed it. They've only dropped two episodes, but the rest will air on Acorn on Thursdays for a total of 6 episodes (those lazy Brits! 😉).

Thoroughly enjoyed Beyond Paradise ep 1 (watched it on YouTube) but can't find the second episode. Hope you're right about it being on Acorn on Thursdays!

We watched it through Prime, since our Acorn subscription is through Prime. You should try there, Mame.

Or maybe we watched it on BritBox. We subscribe to both through Amazon. We love those Brit small town detective shows, especially if they take place in scenic locations!

Oh good. I never got into the original series either, but I am enjoying this one. A new series started this week called Holding. It is based on a book by Graham Norton. Here is the blurb - Premiering in North America March 6. Nothing ever happens in tiny Irish towns like Duneen--until one day human remains are found buried on a farm there. For the first time ever, police sergeant PJ Collins (Conleth Hill) has a genuine crime to solve. A lifetime's worth of small-town secrets are unearthed, revealing the villagers' dark pasts and rousing PJ's own inner demons. "A charming adaptation of Graham Norton's novel" --Guardian. It looks really good. https://acorn.tv/holding/
