Here is a really interesting tidbit. McCallister's book (which you can download for free, it is public but from all reports it is really boring), has an original copy at the New York Public Library, main branch. He donated it to the library when it came out. He was ostracized by society and three years after the publication he walked into the library and wrote in all the margins the names of the people he referred to in the book. He had not identified anyone in the publication but scorned??? he identified them all. The book apparently is on display in the library. I think I will go look for it next week sometime.

That is so cool that it is still around. I keep thinking why was he so shocked they ostracized him after he publicly gossiped all about them. He reminds me of the guy that had the swans

I think it was overconfidence. He taught them allthe intricacies of high society. He creted the "400" and like an HOH, full of their self importance of the day...they are done.

It tied everything up in a bow just in case there wasnt going to be a season 4. I think the only thing to look forward to next season would be the drama that Oscar drums up with his "bride" and what will Bertha do to get her man back. Peggy will be dealing with the monster mother in law.

A friend of mine said she thinks S3 was supposed to end with the balls tying everything up and then they got renewed for S4 so they came on with the cliffhanger re: George, Bertha and Gladys. It looks like Gladys and the Duke are finally falling in love with each other so we're going to have a baby next season (depending how fast the season jumps in time). Will Jack marry Bridget and make her the mistress of his mansion - moving her from downstairs to upstairs? I hope we get more on the Fanes divorce and Charlotte Astor Drayton's divorce. It was just so scandalous for that time period. I'm kind of excited about Oscar and Enid's "lavender marriage." They could be a force to be reckoned with.

I loved this season finale. Jack makes me grin ear to ear when he is on the screen. I dont feel a lot of chemistry between him and Bridget, more of a friendship. I know she likes him but not sure he feels same. So happy for Peggy! So happy Larry and Marion seem like they will get back together but Larry went to NY with his dad day after the ball so I'm not sure how their courtship will continue.

I used to loathe Oscar but he has grown on me. I am happy to see where his storyline goes. I give Bertha a lot of credit for inviting Enid after what she did. I was afraid they were going to have her pursue George and since he is pissed at Bertha she may have been successful this time

Lexie, if you are interested, read the book the Astors by Anderson Cooper. A totally crazy family with ore drama than you would expect. I just finished it and it was really delicious.

I need more episodes and seasons! I will be very disappointed if George develops a laudanum addiction.

My thoughts went there too, Sugar. Him complaining/remarking on pain seemed like a sign.

I now started reading the rise and fall of the Vanderbilts by Anderson cooper. Bertha is based on Alva Vanderbilt. After Alva divorced her husband she became an enthusiastic suffragette. I am thinking we might see that next season.

Probably good then that Bertha's set the precedent that divorced women can stay in society.

Yes but she defended to the end her decision to force her daughter into a loveless marriage. All the while, after the suffragette immersion, claiming that society women were brainless and shallow, equated them to prostitutes. She was very vocal. She had the suffragette banner buried with her.

I'm definitely looking up those books by Anderson Cooper. They sound like good reads.

Well worth it Kappy. I should add that Alva did go to London to support Consuelo in her divorce.
