Saw Rebel. Loved it. Haven't been this excited about a new show in ages. Great cast. Katey Sagal is terrific. Thrilled to see two Northern Exposure alums in the 1st ep. John Corbett & Adam Arkin.

I’ve got it recorded but resisted bc I’ve tired of Preachy SJW agendas and lessons that are crammed down our throats 24/7,but I love her and the other actors.

I've never understood why fighting for justice became such a bad thing that it resulted in SJW being used as an insult. Any type of preachy behavior can be irritating. To each their own. I enjoyed seeing Katey Segal in a more serious role. Such a complex character. Hope it continues.

I believe it is a pejorative term meaning Social Justice Warrior.

Thanks, I guess I just enjoy shows for entertainment and rarely look for secret agendas.

It seems every tv show has a cause, lesson or plight to preach about. Every tv show seems like an after school special. It’s definitely a thing bc tons of ppl complain about TV and movies being too preachy these days. I think it’s lazy writing or lack of creativity. I guess if I’m looking for a different kind of plot,Maybe I should stick to murder mysteries, comedies and documentaries. I did watch Rebel and I liked it enough to watch again.

Really enjoyed it!! My one question (not a complaint. Lol) is why did they change her name? Is it SO REMOVED from the truth that they couldn’t use Erin Brockovich? And is yes then why not say the show was INSPIRED by her instead of BASED on her? Now having posed the question, I imagine the answer has to do with not wanting lawsuits from ex husbands and others around her, so change a few names and avoid that whole quagmire.

I haven’t watched but my understanding is the entire point of this show is it’s about a woman who is seeking social justice. Criticizing this show for that is kind of like criticizing a show about a hospital for having a doctor as the main character or having too many sick people on it. If you don’t like that subject, then you’re watching the wrong show, regardless of how much you may like the actors.

Good point, Jimmer. I consider myself a Social Justice Warrior so I guess this will be right up my alley. I think I need to see it tonight. Thanks, Dipo.

You’re right Jimmer but great TV with excellent actors is hard to come by these days. Even though I don’t like the content, maybe I’ll be surprised <99> As I said, I did like the first episode.

As a (former) human rights attorney, excellent comment Jimmer! I enjoyed the first episode. Like the kids even more then Rebel - lots of complexities to how those relationships will flow.
