I just watched the premier and 2nd episode of this new show. It is pretty funny. They are half hour episodes.

I liked it as well, but I think Holly Hunter's role is a little annoying. Bobby Moynihan is pretty funny.

Oh! I knew I recognized the tiny actress's face but didn't realize that is who she was. I guess when she was a leading lady they shot around her stature? Or maybe the younger actors are just larger now.

I made it through an episode and a half and then gave up. I thought it was pretty dumb.

I tried again. I think it’s suffering from the current events coloring my judgement. All I could think of is I’d rather see a competent politician, than a bumbling one who does the right thing. I may try again, as I do like Ted Danson.

The Holly Hunter character really, really annoyed me. I think it might be better without her and just go with the rest of the “staff”.

I don't think this one is a winner. It is similar to The Mayor from 2017. A fish out of water ends up in office...

And it was funny to see all those stars complaining at the townhall meeting, LOL>

I haven't seen the latest episode yet. Bigdog said he recorded it and watched it last night. He was so-so on the premise but did mention the big star cameos of Brentwood residents not wanting a recycling plant in their city.

I had forgotten about this show, as I usually watch cbs.com, but I got caught up last night and tonight. I think I actually love this show. All of the characters are overblown and playing parodies of stereotypes, but then they also have humanity. I LOVE Holly Hunter's over-the-top Arpi character. I even love the teenager, the mayor's daughter. They are all bumbling through life, just as most of us do, trying to live up to other people's expectations. They fall on their faces time after time, but some sort of redemption arrives at the end of each 30 minute episode, and it is all funny and endearing.

Folks I tried. I really, really tried to like the show, cuz it has a terrific cast. But I find the scripts awful. So yesterday I gave up and removed it from my PVR.
