I am really excited about “Picard” but the first/only review I have read trashed it HARD. Still going to watch, premieres are often not reflective of the quality for the series as a whole.

Oh I heard a very positive review. I guess we’ll have to see for ourselves. There’s certainly no pleasing all Star Trek fans.

I think in the U.S. it’s available on CBS All Access?

I enjoyed the first episode of Picard. So nice to see Caot Picard and Data. I then checked out Avenue 5 on Crave, sci-fi sitcom. I wrote more about it in the Crave thread.

I enjoyed Picard as well. Only disappointment was the theme song, but I think I can survive that. Lol

Re: Picard. I awoke thinking about the first episode. I forget her name, Data's "daughter" but when the acid or whatever that green stuff that hit her and she realized she was a synthetic. Or maybe it was a reaction like, I'm going to die; not sure. Could have been a combination of both. It was haunting. Well done! Also, was it just me or did it look like a Borg Cube at the very end where her twin was living?

Miz, I don’t think that’s much of a mystery because there is a borg as a part of the regular cast. They have been doing interviews so I don’t think that’s a spoiler.

I grew up watching the original Star Trek and would like to watch Picard, but I resent having to pay for an additional streaming service. We already have Amazon Fire, Hulu, YouTube TV, HBO, Starz and a PBS Masterpiece app. When is enough enough???

Rissa....I didn't think it was a spoiler and I didn't know the Borg is part of the regular cast. I haven't read anything or know anything at all about Picard. I'm going in blind. I am however a Next Generation fan. So that was a Borg cube then?

Babyjaxmom, I watched Picard on TV last night. It was on SciFi channel, in Canada. I agree though, seems like we need so many streaming channels to get the viewing we want. I have Netflix, Prime and Crave and I have regular tv. I only have Prime because I order things on Amazon and Crave because my daughter wanted the earlier seasons of Legends of Tomorrow.

This is the interview I saw with the cast. The borg is Hugh, he was on Next Generation for those who watched that series.

Thanks for the link Rissa. I enjoyed the premiere. But by the end of it I commented to DH that it felt a tad too soapy for me. But I'm going to keep watching because I'm a huge TNG fan

Sigh, we were about to get rid of CBS All Access cuz we weren't watching anything on it. We'll be keeping it now, lol. We enjoyed Picard and are really excited to see what they do with it.

Mame, the director has said that it is really a three part premiere and the direction/style of the show won’t be clear until the end of that third episode. Might make it less ‘soapy’, maybe more. Lol

Rissa...thanks for the link! I enjoyed the interview. My memory fades and I don't remember the Borg named Hugh. Please jog my memory on Hugh's storyline. Kitt...feel free to set up a thread for Picard if you like.
