I watched an awesome Amazon Original movie called Saltburn It's about kind of a strange loner at an Ivy League school that gets invited to spend the summer at one of the richest and most popular guys family estate for the summer. The visit is more like crazy people meet another crazy person. It says it's a "black comedy psychological thriller ".

Naja I heard such bizarre descriptions of the movie I thought...there is no way I would be interested in that. But you are saying you liked it? That might just encourage me to try it lol

It is definitely very bizarre, but I more than liked it. Rosamund Pike plays the most strange woman in it. She's mom to the rich kid.

And I don't know why I remembered it as an ivy league school. It's actually Oxford.

I was kind of bored by the film Saltburn. To me, it didn't contain enough dark humor. And I wasn't offended by it or particularly shocked. What I did like was Rosamund Pike (scene stealer), and there were a couple of well-crafted scenes. Plus some interesting cinematography. But overall I was not wowed.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith NEW SERIES: Ordered in 2021, Amazon's series adaptation of the 2005 Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie action film was originally a collaboration between Atlanta's Donald Glover, Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and writer Francesca Sloane (Fargo), with the first two also starring as the title characters. Waller-Bridge dropped out of the project due to creative differences, but Glover remains as co-creator and star, while PEN15's Maya Erskine takes on the Angelina Jolie role opposite Glover. They play a pair of spies whose cover involves them posing as a married couple—though their living situation becomes more complex when a genuine attraction develops between them. John Turturro, Paul Dano, Michaela Coel, Parker Posey, Sarah Paulson, Sharon Horgan, Alexander Skarsgård, Ron Perlman, and Wagner Moura also appear in the series. All eight episodes will be available to stream today. I’m on the second episode and really enjoying this one. https://www.metacritic.com/news/tv-premiere-dates/

Oooh. I'm looking forward to this one. I loved her on Pen 15. And I love Parkey Posey. This looks fun.

I binged ExPats yesterday with Nicole Kidman. It's an easy binge since it's only six episodes. It was excellent.

Does anybody remember a 2001 show called "American Rust" with Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney on Showtime? I loved it. I guess you would call it a crime / mystery. Well, it was cancelled. But lo and behold, I just saw minutes ago that Season 2 just premiered last week on Prime! All 10 eps are up. It's titled American Rust: Broken Justice. "Amidst the arrival of fracking to Southwestern Pennsylvania, Del Harris and Grace Poe try to rebuild their lives after a series of harrowing events, but a string of seemingly unrelated murders hints at a much larger conspiracy that threatens everything they’ve grown to love." https://www.amazon.com/The-Golden-Goose/dp/B0CK5NQ2P3/

I watched Beautiful Boy on Prime today. It’s a true story with Steve Carrell as the father. It was very good.

If anyone likes sci-fi and apocalypses, I highly recommend "Fallout"...on Amazon Prime. I found it fun, scary, thought provoking, and unpredictable. Naja, you will love it.

Kitt, are you asking me about "Fallout"? I had to look it up to see what the heck you were talking about! So I saw that it was based on a game, but never knew that before I watched it. Since I had no idea it was based on some game, my bet is that it won't be an obstacle to you enjoying it either. It doesn't look like it was based on a game, but it does look like it was created by some amazingly talented people who possibly came from the future or something. Just watch the first ep to see if you like it.....and then do like I did, stay glued to the screen until it's over because you LOVED it! It is over the top, but not like Preacher was over the top in a totally insane world. On Fallout, everything makes logical sense even though it never rises to the level of ridiculous or confounding. And it has Nicole Nichols in it! Btw, did you see any more of Renegade Nell?

I’ll probably give Fallout a go then. Yes, I finished Renegade Nell, it was a lot of fun, nothing too serious but exciting enough to want to watch the next episode, and just what I needed.

I said it was Nicole Nichols, but it was Nichelle Nichols on Fallout. When I looked it up I saw something weird on IMDB: Fallout (IMDB): IMDB showed Leslie Uggams as the actress who played Uhura on Star Trek. Huh?: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12637874/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 I googled it: Google: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=leslie+uggams+star+trek However, when I looked at Leslie Uggams' credits on her own IMDB page, Star Trek isn't listed: Uggams (IMDB): https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0880081/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 So then I checked IMDB for Nichelle and found she has a Star Trek credit and a Fallout credit: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0629667/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_0_nm_8_q_nichelle -------------- It was definitely Nichols and not Uggams in Fallout. Wow! The internet made a mistake??? I thought everything on the internet was true!

Nichelle Nichols (the ST original series (and movies) Uhura) died in 2022, and surely Fallout was filmed after that? So I think it has to be Uggams in Fallout (not sure if that’s what you meant, but you typed the other way round). But it’s absolutely bizarre that google gives several links to Uggams playing the original Uhura!! I bet it’s just that one link got it wrong, then it got copied to other sites somehow. Maybe even AI as google is now using AI and not sites to provide summaries sometimes. And AI basically hurt autofills.

"Nichelle Nichols (the ST original series (and movies) Uhura) died in 2022, and surely Fallout was filmed after that?" I knew she died but I just figured her parts were filmed before that and/or there may have been a delay because of the writers strike. Above I said that Nichols had both a Fallout credit and a ST credit...but I confused that with Uggams' IMDB page. Doh! Also above, I inadvertently switched the descriptions of the IMDB links with the correct links. I was positive it was Nichols in ST. After reading your post I looked up images of Uggams and she does look a lot more like the Fallout Betty than Nichols. Thank you for your incredible attention to detail. I always trust IMDB except when the episode number seems wrong...I have occasionally seen some episodes not getting listed on IMDB until later in a season (of a few random shows). Maybe I need an MRI to make sure my brain is still in there. Maybe I smoked too much "medicine" before bed last night and woke up a bit loopy, but very well rested. Or maybe I didn't smoke enough...

Well I typed “AI basically hurt autofills” and I can’t even work out what I intended to write there . IMDb sometimes doesn’t post all the guest stars in an episode when I really really want to find out who they are. That’s frustrating because there’s rarely an alternative option to find out.

"Based on your recommendations, I’ll definitely be taking a look at “Fallout”." Gee, thanks for your trust in my opinion! I don't think you'll be disappointed, Jimmer. This show is not what it sounds like....the general premise is "apocalypse sci-fi", but it truly is not like any of the other thousands of apocalyptic and dystopian stories of TV shows and movies we've seen so often before. This show takes a different journey....and that was evident in the first few minutes of episode 1. You noticed that Rieann got hooked halfway thru the first episode, right? I'll be interested to know what you guys think of it. Btw, I forgot to mention that Kyle McLaughlin and Walton Goggins are also in it. "Fallout". Tell your friends....I'd hate to see this one to get canceled, too!
