Just finished catching up. Love the show. Makes me cry a lot lol I knew that was Maddie’s crazy husband too. I didn’t like the looks of the preview for the new season though 😢

Just at the beginning of tonights episode. When the car crash happens, the mom puts her arm out like every mom I know. Made me smile that someone knew that.

This was a hard episode to watch. Those boys that were kidnapped, the abusive ex husband and poor Chimney...hard to watch. I hope the next one is a bit lighter

Just watched the episode and agree, it was a tough one to watch. Very intense. I found the character names in the kidnapped boys story interesting. The kidnapper's name was Parnell and the older boy's name was Stevie. Parnell was the name of the man who kidnapped Steven Stayner in Merced, CA in 1972 when he was 7 years old. 7 years later when Parnell kidnapped a second young boy, Steven escaped with the young boy. A lifetime movie, I Know My First Name is Steven was made about the case. It stayed with me all these years because Steven had such a tragic life. He ended up being killed in a motorcycle accident when he was 24 leaving behind a wife and 2 young children. His brother was Cary Stayner, who turned out to be the Yosemite serial killer. Just a sad and tragic story all around.

Yes, I remember it well, very sad all around. That all was happening while I was in my High school yrs and we lived In that area so it was constantly in the news. And then when the Yosemite killings happened we were all stunned. It was truly sad.

I remember the whole Steven saga too.. Very sad. There were good parts of the episode too (Athena being a rockstar at her job! The whale or whatever being saved), but stressful wanting Chimney to be ok.

I loved seeing Chimney’s backstory, but I really don’t want to wait until next week to see what happens.

I was worried about Chimney last week when I saw a Firefighter funeral on the previews of the spring season but we saw that funeral last night so it gives me hope!

While I enjoyed seeing Chimney's backstory, I wanted to scream 60 minutes later when we still didn't know his fate. Not fair!!!

I don't get the ending Seamonkey. They had to have known about it before hiring him so why is it all of a sudden a problem? Sigh.

I am not sure what they know vs what we know and is there more that they don't know and we don't know...

I always thought no one knew what he did. Didn't he say he changed his name in the episode last year when he revealed his past? Also, why would any fire department hire a guy that totally lost it and became a drunk who wound up burning down his own building, including his wife and kids? That's pretty much the most disqualifying resume I can think of for a fire department applicant.

I got some of the details wrong...he killed over 100 people, not just his family...but this recap didn't say whether or not he changed his name. However it does sound like this was his big secret, implying that the FD never knew. I'm old, my memory is spotty! 2 minute youtube of his character on 9-1-1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNEoMRxGSO8

I had forgotten that his plan was to save one more person than he felt he killed, then commit suicide..
