At first, I was thinking that New Amsterdam was okay, besides an incredibly good looking doctor, but boy, did that ending reel me in. I heard it did great in the ratings. (It does follow This Is Us)

We watched New Amsterdam off the DVR last night. Really liked it, at least enough to keep it on the DVR recording schedule.

I liked A Million Little Things, that was on last night. My only complaint was that most of the show had been previewed in the commercials. But, I liked it anyway and will continue to watch.

There are so many layers to A Million Little Things. It can go so many ways. I was not expecting who the one guy was having an affair with.

and it's exactly that... A million little things we don't know about each other even though we think we're friends. I think it's not 'earth shattering' new series, just normal people, more a psychological genre, the suicide was a wake-up call for this group of friends who are wondering if they really know each other, the viewers see they all have secrets they don't share and it's also a reflection on our modern lives, the way we communicate and the loneliness we feel in spite of all the communication power we have. However, if the series becomes a bit too soppy for me, I may lose interest.

I didn't think I was going to like the Murphy Brown reboot, but it was pretty good. It was so weird seeing Avery as a grown man and also in the news business.

Same here, Mameblanche. I didn't really watch much of the first run of Murphy Brown. It was on back when I worked mostly evenings, plus it just didn't interest me. But I'm really liking this reboot.

Anyone catch the premiere of "The Cool Kids" on FOX last night? Pretty funny...starring Vickie Lawrence, David Alan Grier, Leslie Jordan and Martin Mull and a lot of shenanigans in a retirement community. My sister emailed me to ask if I caught the "Kramer" cameo....she forgot we had a 3 hour time difference. When I watched it (a few hours later) I looked for him all through the episode and never saw him, but I did see someone who looked sort of like an old man version of "Kramer" but it was Jamie Farr! ("Klinger" from M*A*S*H) Fun show. I recommend it.

Naja, did you recognize the dead guy "Jerry" in the photo (guy with crazy hair) at the memorial? I thought he looked very familiar but it wasn't listed in the credits. I was wondering if it was the creator of the show or something...but I looked him up (actually "them") and it was neither of them.

I thought that new CBS sitcom last night "The Neighborhood" really showed some promise. It's about a white couple that moves into a neighborhood that's mostly black. The one on right after it, "Happy Together" wasn't near as good. It's about a 30something couple that let's a very young rock star move in with them and they realize they aren't as young as they used to be.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I watched Magnum P.I. It's not going to win any Emmy awards but as an action type show with nice location scenery and a good looking lead and cast it was pretty entertaining in a shallow way (but hey that's most of network TV). It's getting terrible reviews though.
