I read that the makers of Blackist say he is dead. Not fake dead. Real dead. I'm so sad. I loved Tom!!! WHY?!?! Did he get another gig? The mystery around him added to the show. I don't see how this show will make it. Did they just jump the shark?

Yes, I also heard he is really off the show and No I don't think they jumped the shark. If you check Black List on Facebook, there are many, many people that wanted him gone including me.

Why do people hate on Tom? I glanced at the fb page and I see a lot of sadness over the loss of a great character. Plus a lot of annoyance at how unrealistic her "wake up" scene was.

This just why I don't like him, I can't speak for anyone else. Tom treated Liz horribly half of the time, he was untrustworthy, he did not have her best interest at heart, I think he was more into ruining Red then he was helping Liz and I just plain didn't like him.

That’s a good summary. I will say they’ve had a very odd relationship over the course of the series but then again none of the characters on the show would be considered normal in real life.

Focusing on a technicality here but isn't Tom's name really NOT Tom? If so, could it be that when the writers say "Tom really is dead", they are word playing us?

And the actor who plays him, Ryan, said he is off the show, so don't know how much more final that could get. He did mention that maybe a flashback scene here or there would be fun but he didn't think that was going to happen. I wanted to see where they went from here.

I don't like what they did. Tom was an interesting character. Certainly more interesting than Liz.

The sad thing with killing Tom off will we ever know who he was working for in the beginning and why did he continue after he fell in love with her or what they wanted. Or do we already know this and I've forgotten.

Agreed. Seems they left a gaping whole we will never fill in regarding Tom. I wonder if they just didn't know where to take his story any more? They couldn't just let him be a house husband and make Liz happy? Now this show has no eye candy. Darn it!  I found his character very interesting and he helped make Liz more human and likable.

Dembe seems like such a good person. Red as well (at times). I like that the characters are complex.

Yes, Dembe seems to ground Red. Maybe we'll get more back story on him.
Spade was handsome back in the day. I adore him, but he's a bit too unlean for me.  But his brilliance is notable. He's kind of an odd duck too, if you've seen him on talk shows. An interesting man for sure.
