I don't find this thread has ever been particularly busy like TWD. This show always leaves me curious for next week. I didn't find it boring but there was a lot going on with so many different characters in that hour.

Thanks Karuuna . I think this season has been better than the last one. At least so far. I think it's going to get convoluted though, with Strand and Daniel being split up. I'm not sure it would be that realistic for them to stay together, but I would definitely rather that than follow individual unrelated stories. Especially if it could have kept Efrain in the storyline, I really liked him. There are some promo clips of coming up with Ofelia in, so I guess that means she's in the next episode. I'm expecting an episode of some of her backstory (from when she was caught by Otto until now), and I hope it doesn't break the flow too much.

I had a little panic yesterday when Ep 8 started off with the Ofelia backstory, I thought it would take a while but luckily they kept it brief. I almost wonder if they changed their mind on what happened to her, as Otto Sr didn't really have much part of it. Loved the Strand section, especially him talking to the Russian on the space station. Wish we'd caught up with Daniel too. So we heard Madison's big secret, which does help explain a lot. Shocking ending with Otto Sr (and I wish they'd shown how they persuaded Jake and Troy he did it himself) but sets up a new chapter. I wonder how many of the Ranch people are now dead. I'm not even sure we knew how many were originally there.

" I almost wonder if they changed their mind on what happened to her, as Otto Sr didn't really have much part of it." Otto Sr's interaction with Ofelia was brief, but it was pivotal. It actually steered a major plot development of the finale. If Otto hadn't been so racist and cold to her situation when he found her alone, waterless, and wandering in the desert, I doubt she would have taken sides against him as strongly as she did. She found help and kindness from Walker and wound up betraying Madison and family by poisoning the coffee of ranch's militia, taking out their best protectors...and almost killing Nick. I think her moment with Otto really changed Ofelia. She had been basically a one-note character until now. Now she has truly become her daddy's daughter. --- Btw, Walker said he used anthrax and that it's incurable....but in real life anthrax is treated with antibiotics which is what Nick was given. link

I agree it was pivotal in the story, but I just think that at the time it was filmed (Ofelia being stopped by Otto Sr) they probably had good ideas for a group of survivalists headed by Otto, but hadn't got to planning the Red Hat part yet. The switch from one story for her to the new one just seems too abrupt. But I agree they made the most of it and made it believable and significant.

Season 3B trailer from ComicCon: http://tvline.com/2017/07/21/fear-the-walking-dead-season-3-trailer-amc-video/ I guess you could say it's spoilery as I don't think all that's going to happen just in the first episode. Also an interview with the cast, which I haven't watched yet, so not sure if it's spoilery or not: http://tvline.com/2017/07/21/fear-the-walking-dead-cast-interview-season-3b-video/

You're welcome. The second half season starts on Sunday. Can't wait! There's a main show Walking Dead preview in the hour before the FearTWD show too, so the night starts at 5pm/8pm, depending on where you are.

It was rather depressing. I'm glad I only "half-watch" these days, listening while doing other things rather than watching with no distractions.

It was ok I was sad that Ofelia died. She didn't get to see her father. Typical that the other Kids (grown ones at that) always seem to want to do their own thing even in the face of disaster. Seems to me family would pull together to make sure they survive and live a life of some kind. I have to remind myself it is a tv show. lol With that said I personally can't wait for TWD.

That's how I felt too, sad she didn't get to see her father, and sad his hopes were so raised, but as for the character, I wasn't too bothered. Not the actress' fault, but when they had her leave the hotel and not be in many episodes I lost interest. I just can't understand family splitting up. I suppose this time at least they know where each other are, unlike when Nick left the first time. I'm disturbed by Nick taking the drugs again, all I can see is pain ahead.

I keep rootin' for the zombies. I can't stand the super sanctimonious Madison nor her brood. Travis probably couldn't wait to fall out of that helicopter just to get away from them all. Nick has always been selfish and self centered. I liked Ofelia and I find Strand oddly interesting. Don't care for Daniel and was sorry to see him still around. I like Walker and hope we see a lot more of him.

I should add I find this new woman interesting. Maybe because she is new or her pick axe. Maybe she will hang around a while.

Madison must be the cockroach of the Fear The Walking Dead world. Somebody needs to get some super hold #3 hair spray and a big shoe to stop and stomp out this Madison cockroach.

It's funny that the only person we know for sure survives is the one that many people hate the most. Dramatic finale but another reset for next season.

I think they should get rid of the whole lot of them and focus on following Walker. Seriously, I like the show but did they want to write for and develop characters that nobody would like?

Here is the difference in the 2 shows for me: With FTWD I can say I like/connect/invested in maybe 2 characters. When one of them dies, I'm like.. whoa that sucks.. but other than that.. I move on. With TWD I like/connect/invested in 80% of the characters and am emotionally affected when one of them is injured or killed.
